Goal 1: A Fairtrade group is established to achieve Fairtrade Town status
(should ideally include representatives of the council and chamber of commerce, and people from the area’s schools, young people, churches, local businesses, local action groups)
Town/municipal council or other relevant body (such as Chamber of Commerce) passes a resolution supporting Fairtrade and agrees to use 100% Fairtrade coffee at its meetings;
Meets at least twice during year and facilitates ongoing work through appropriate channels
Shares experience and good practice with other Fairtrade communities online and/or face-to-face through opportunities such as the annual Fairtrade Towns and Supporters Conference
