Sherman and Hendricks quoted Dr. Clayton Bell, pastor of the Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas, once preached a sermon entitled, “What’s a Layman to Do?” He remarked “According to a study
which I read several years ago, no church can create enough meaningful jobs for all of its
members to do something in church. In fact, only one-third of the membership of a local church can be given a job doing church work. So if you think that serving the Lord means doing some work in
church, then two-thirds of you are doomed to frustration and disappointment.”

Four Platforms of GCF SingaporeVocational Ministries
As we see our vocation as a calling and ministry from our loving Father, we hold regular fellowship meetings to:
• Keep accountable to the highest ethical standards in performing our daily work, when necessary, even over and above what is industrial norm or legally mandated.
• Seek the interest of the common good for humanity and environment through our work as much as possible, in particular for the poor, needy, orphaned and widowed.
• Help our fellow Christian colleague to clarify his/her calling though vocational counseling.

Four Platforms of GCF SingaporeSocial Ministries and Foreign Missions
Whole Gospel to the Whole World by the Whole Church.
1) Both at a local or foreign capacity. 2) Besides the traditional missions or social
ministry models, we can work towards creative and innovative platforms such as Corporate adoption of charities, Business as Missions, Itinerant Traveling Missionary or Church Planter.
Stewards and co-regents with ChristGCF can play a particular role in pioneering social
ministries when there are no existing help is rendered and be one who stands in the gaps. We find examples of such in our history for training of pastors, lay leaders, hospitals, employment etc.

I simply argue that the cross be raised again at the centre of the market place as well as on the steeple of the church. I am recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves; on the town garbage heap; at a crossroad so cosmopolitan that they had to write his title in Hebrew and in Latin and in Greek … at the kind of place where cynics talk smut, and thieves curse, and soldiers gamble. Because that is where he died. And that is what he died about. And that is where churchmen should be and what churchmen should be about.
George MacLeod of the Iona Community.
