Why does WSF need to adjust the Mukilteo/Clinton schedule? The exisng sailing schedule was designed for two 124-car Issaquah class ferries. In June 2014, the 144-car Tokitae joined the Mukilteo/Clinton route with the 124-car Kitas. The larger Tokitae has trouble keeping to its schedule in the aſternoons year round, but the problem is worst in the summer when the route is busiest. On-me performance on the route has gone down, and there is a rise in passengers missing aſternoon Clinton transit connecons. WSF is proposing to adjust aſternoon departure mes to allow more me for vessels to load and unload and improve reliability.

Schedule change criteria ■ Provide more time for loading and unloading in Mukilteo,

especially during the busy afternoon commute■ Maintain the number of sailings in the current schedule, resulting

in zero cuts to service■ Improve reliability and on-time performance (currently defined

as sailings departing within 10 minutes of the scheduled time), especially during the summer months

■ Maintain current maintenance periods at night to keep vessels safe and reliable

■ Comply with existing labor contracts and schedules for deck, terminal and engine crew

Six-month pilot scheduleIn Fall 2017, we will evaluate the new Mukilteo/Clinton schedule based on:

■ Loading and offloading duration: WSF will collect loading and offloading times at each terminal and assess trends.

■ On-time performance: WSF will compare summer 2016 and summer 2017 on-time performance data.

■ Customer feedback: WSF will track customer feedback related to the new schedule.
