Glory be to God in heaven, Peace to those who love him well. On the earth let all his people, Speak his grace, his wonders tell: Lord, we praise you for your glory, Mighty Father, heaven’s King; Hear our joyful adoration, And accept the thanks we bring.

Blessed Savior, Jesus Christ, you have given yourself to us in the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Keep us in your faith and favor that we may live in you as you live in us. May your body and blood preserve us in the true faith to life everlasting. Hear us for the sake of your name.

C: Amen. FIRST LESSON Isaiah 40:28-31 28Do you not know? Have you not heard? TheLordis the everlastingGod, the Creatorof the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29He gives strengthto the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30Even youths grow tired and weary, and young menstumble and fall; 31but those who hopein theLord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

28¿Acaso no lo sabes? ¿Acaso no te has enterado?

SECOND LESSON I Corinthians 11:23-32 23For I received from the Lordwhat I also passed on to you:The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said,“This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying,“This cup is the new covenantin my blood;do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

5

27So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.28Everyone ought to examine themselvesbefore they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.29For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.30That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.31But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.32Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplinedso that we will not be finally condemned with the world.

GOSPEL Matthew 26:26-30 M: The Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew. C: Glory be to you, O Christ! 26While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke itand gave it to his disciples, saying,“Take and eat; this is my body.” 27Then he took a cup,and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying,“Drink from it, all of you.28This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.29I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with youin my Father’s kingdom.” 30When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

M: This is the Gospel of our Lord! C: Praise be to you, O Christ!

Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation, he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and became fully human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate. He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who in unity with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Therefore, with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we praise your glorious name:

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING P: Blessed are you, O Lord of heaven and earth. We praise and thank you for sending your Son, Jesus

Strengthen us through Christ’s body and blood, and preserve us in the true faith until we feast with him and all his ransomed people in glory everlasting.
