- Health (taken in grade 9 or 10) .25 credits- Additional Credits Required for an Academy Certificate + 5.0 credits
TOTAL = 22 Credits
Note: Class of 2015: 22 credits including the completion of all core and non-core subject area requirements and all required MCAS Competencies (ELA, Math, Science). Students have many chances to pass MCAS before they graduate. In addition, students will need to complete 40 hours of community service (10 per year) & a capstone project
CURRICULUMWeymouth High School has a diverse elective and core
curriculum boasting nearly 500 courses offered in either a year long, semester or single term
format. Departmental / standards based final exams are administered at the conclusion of all courses. Core courses
are offered at three instructional levels: College Preparatory, Honors, and
Advanced Placement. Students are also given the opportunity to pursue Advanced Independent Studies at the Honors level and Laboratory/Community
Service Assistant positions within the school.
SCHEDULE
• Weymouth High School runs a seven period cascading block schedule.
Within the seven periods, there are six 47 minute periods and one 70
minute extended learning “cascading” block that rotates through the seven
day cycle
