WHO WE ARE
Origin (Africa) is both a new beginning and continuation of many years of success, founded in 1992, within the Project Management industry. We have always main-tained that a sound business strategy is essential to success and that a sound BB-BEE strategy is not only an ethical necessity, but also a pragmatic growth strategy. As of 2015, GHC Africa (South Africa) became Origin (Africa) Project Management, a black owned enterprise as defined under the BBBEE Act 2003.
From the outset, we have pushed boundaries and challenged establishment norms in the Project Management industry and will continue to do so. We continually set new benchmarks in the industry for service excellence and continue to review our management practises, capitalizing on the lessons learned and passing these bene-fits on to our clients and the industry. We believe that we have found a better way to manage your construction projects. This starts with the understanding that if we listen more intently and collaborate more closely, that together we will complete building projects that not only fulfil your vision for today but inspire your reality of tomorrow.
We provide the highest calibre project teams for projects of all sizes and complexi-ties. This ranges from the provision of integrated multi-skilled teams, to the appoint-ment of a single project manager. Our award-winning project teams plan and control every aspect of the project life-cycle, from concept to definition, implementation and handover. Our Project Management service includes the definition, leadership, plan-ning, stakeholder management, control and successful delivery of projects on your behalf.
Our business operates around a consistent set of core values and disciplined operat-ing principles. Our values translate into a culture that permeates every aspect of our business and it is this culture that distinguishes Origin (Africa) Project Management from other firms in the industry. Best practice is embedded in everything we do. Our vision for our clients, our team and our community is to help build a better environ-ment for all: ethics, excellence, fair return, mutual respect, safety and sustainability remain the cornerstones of our business.

ORIGIN AWARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
Origin Project Management operates throughout South Africa. In association with
our sister company GHC Africa (Global), we are able to deliver projects on your be-
half across the African continent and beyond. Our aim is to be globally expansive but
regionally responsive, having learned the value of local knowledge through the vast
experience we have gained operating throughout Africa as GHC Africa over the past
20 years. This attitude results in an inclusive approach as we recognize that whilst
globalization is a powerful force, construction remains strongly, local in character.

what do we offer
COMMERCIAL MANAGEMENT
Effective monitoring of construction costs is merely one part of the cost management
equation. Costs must be managed and controlled at every stage of the development
process from planning, design and the construction process through to the ongoing
operation of the building. Our competencies are as follows:
A systematic and proactive approach to managing budgets
Regular review meetings to monitor “budget vs actual”
Life cycle costing
Commercial management
Value Engineering
Equity participation
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Specific contracts requiring a reduced value of principal contractor involvement al-
lows for the appointment of a Construction Manager. The Construction Manager will
divide the project into smaller logical packages and manage these on behalf of the
client. The advantages of Construction Management are:
Greater control of the contractor P&G, resulting in cost savings of up to 7%
No mark-up on s/c trades (ranging between 3-5%)
Greater flexibility to process client initiated changes at minimum costs
Establishment of work packages to suit local (BBBEE) contractors
DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT
Each one of our disciplines impacts on the other and as such, our integration offers
significant benefits, particularly when considering our global reach. Two decades of
developing and managing projects has given ORIGIN particular expertise in:
Creation of business plans and bespoke property development
Project funding / Funding Application documentation
Acting as Employers Representative
Management of the pre-construction development process
Business planning and accommodation strategies
Equity participation

mation agenda, The Property Charter and King III Report. Origin (Africa) Project
Management is defined as a black owned entity, with 48.5% being owned by black
management and 2.5% owned by the Origin (Africa) Trust for the exclusive benefit
of previously disadvantaged black people.
We are committed to the creation and development of an enabling environment, for
effective Black Economic Empowerment within the organisation. We believe in the
important role of the small and medium enterprise sector in our economy, and are
committed to invest in, support, develop and avail opportunities for the growth and
development of black SME’s.

grammes.

Education and skills development, construction-related skills, mathematics, sci-
ence, environmental, science and technology education
Economic empowerment promoting sustainable job creation and entrepreneurial
projects, particularly within marginalised and unemployed groups.
