Is an object pronoun. Usually follows a preposition (to, for, from,

with) as object of the preposition.◦ To whom are you referring?◦ You loaned your book to whom?

It can also be the direct or indirect object (the person or thing that is having something done to it).

◦ Whom should I take to dinner tonight?◦ I saw someone whom I had met before.

The easiest way to test whether who or whom is correct, is to substitute.

Who = he Whom = him

Sometimes you will also need to turn a question around into a statement.
