WHO WORKS AT THE PARENT/CHILD CENTRE?
Our team has a variety of skilled personnel. We will be happy to answer any of your questions when you come to us.
The institution's management and the child care workers create a place that you and your child can trust. They are people you can contact if you need help and support in daily life. They bridge the gap between the other profes-sions, which include:
§ A psychologist from the Psychological Advisory Centre, who will provide diagnoses and advice regarding your child's development and other psychological issues in one-on-one talks or in groups.
§ A doctor from the Children and Youth Health Service of the Health department, who can give you information and advice on any medical questions regarding your child.
§ A social worker from the Social Services section of the Youth Welfare Office can give you advice on the support provided by youth welfare as well as on other social services.
§ If needed and in agreement with you, we can also enlist the help of other specialists, such as midwives and paediatric nurses.
WHY HAS THE PAR-ENT/CHILD CENTRE BEEN ESTABLISHED?
All parents want to give their children as good an upbringing as possible so that they have a beneficial foundation for later on in life. Young families ask themselves how they can meet the diverse requirements involved in living together with a child.
The Parent/Child Centre team would like to offer you support with any questions you may have or with childraising respon-sibilities. We provide parents and children with the space and time for social contact, games and activities, and advice.
Our Parent/Child Centre is located nearby and is a reliable part-ner for parents and children between the ages of 0 and 3.The programmes are available to you regardless of whether your child goes to a crèche or nursery.
