Needed

WHO CAN BE A TRANSIT

AMBASSADOR?1. Any Solano County resident who is

at least (18) years old. 2. Anyone who can volunteer (12)

hours per month. 3. Anyone who can commit to being

a volunteer for a minimum of (6) months.

Volunteers with disabilities, seniors and bilingual riders who can inspire others to ride are welcome. The Transit Ambassador will receive a FREE monthly pass for being an active volunteer.

WHAT IS A TRANSIT AMBASSADOR?A Transit Ambassador is a trained volunteer who is knowledgeable about the local fixed route transit system in his or her community. An ambassador's goal is to teach people how to use transit and help passengers feel confident riding the bus. A Transit Ambassador may assist passengers with:• Reading schedules• Planning a trip• Catching the bus• Using transfers • Paying the fare• Requesting special features such as a

wheelchair lift and more...RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TRANSIT AMBASSADOR• Attend a classroom training session • Provide training and information to

passengers while riding the bus with them• Provide information and offer assistance at

Transit Centers• Wear Transit Ambassador apparel when

volunteering• Submit a timecard on a monthly basis which

shows volunteer hours, bus routes traveled, number of passengers assisted, and other information as needed
