Who am i to evaluate you

1
Just a simple thought passed through my mind today morning, seeing the 360 degree evaluation requests. Hence, thought of sharing with my fellow professionals. Appreciate the online facility to assess and issue an indirect authorisation on each other’s professional skills. The only concern that I have, is it prudent to get ourselves evaluated by people who actually do not know us and our professional skills in reality. Isn't it more like ‘LinkedIn profiles’ talking to each other? It has becomes a greater concern, to see the number of request flooding our inbox. Frankly I fail to decide as how one should respond to these. For the simple reason of not knowing each other beyond online profiles and posts. I am attributing it to the limitations the web based introduction of people. Now I being a solution oriented person have to positive approaches to this. 1. Requesting those who know you at least a little beyond online contact. Guess it is correct for your own evaluation and also for your co professionals. 2. Very simple! Let's know each other better. If one is really keen on a feedback from a particular contact, then write a personalised mail sharing work or if mutually agreed then have a chat and share more, doing justice to this act. To conclude this thought for time being, I do not know if it would be appreciated in real spirit, but probably our inbox would be a bit lighter from such mass mailers and our contacts would get strengthen by more focused communication. Cheers!

Just a simple thought passed through

my mind today morning, seeing the

360 degree evaluation requests.

Hence, thought of sharing with my

fellow professionals.

Appreciate the online facility to assess

and issue an indirect authorisation on

each other’s professional skills. The

only concern that I have, is it prudent

to get ourselves evaluated by people

who actually do not know us and our

professional skills in reality. Isn't it

more like ‘LinkedIn profiles’ talking to

each other?

It has becomes a greater concern, to see the number of request flooding our inbox. Frankly I

fail to decide as how one should respond to these. For the simple reason of not knowing

each other beyond online profiles and posts. I am attributing it to the limitations the web

based introduction of people.

Now I being a solution oriented person have to positive approaches to this.

1. Requesting those who know you at least a little beyond online contact. Guess it is correct

for your own evaluation and also for your co professionals.

2. Very simple! Let's know each other better. If one is really keen on a feedback from a

particular contact, then write a personalised mail sharing work or if mutually agreed then

have a chat and share more, doing justice to this act.

To conclude this thought for time being, I do not know if it would be appreciated in real

spirit, but probably our inbox would be a bit lighter from such mass mailers and our contacts

would get strengthen by more focused communication.

Cheers!
