Upcoming Pupil Free Day - Friday 7th June A reminder to parents and carers that staff are involved in a day of
professional learning on Literacy on Friday 7th June. This will be a
pupil free day. School Council endorsed this day in March.
Brave Shave One of our Grade 6 students, Sarah K, is going to have her long hair cut off for a great cause, Shave
the World. Anyone wishing to make a donation can place money in the tin at office reception. Sarah
also has a fundraising activity at the Camp Hotel on 2nd June. Anyone is welcome to attend and
support Sarah in her fundraising efforts. Well done to Sarah for supporting this cause.
REPEAT NOTICES
Uniform Reminder
Recently at assembly, I reminded students that as it gets colder it is acceptable to wear a jacket to
and from school to stay warm but when school starts, they must have a school jumper. This ensures
they can keep warm during breaks and outdoor activities such as physical education while at school,
as they are not able to wear their jackets (unless it is a school uniform item) during school hours.
Chinese Immersion Program 2019 We have had three families express interest in hosting a Chinese student later this year. We are seeking additional families who are
interested. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. [email protected]
Canteen Update
The school canteen lunch ordering system has changed to allow parents and carers more time to have their child’s lunch order in–
this only applies to Qkr orders - not cash orders in a bag.
Qkr orders can now be made up until 7am the morning of a lunch order day. You now have the opportunity to order the evening
before or first thing in the morning by 7am. Ordering cannot be made any later as time is needed to process orders, pick-up fresh
bread, deli goods, vegetables and order hot food made by our local bakery. We do hope this later Qkr order time will be helpful to
you and your family.
Lunch Order Days
Tuesday Wednesday Friday
Cash Orders in by Monday 4pm Cash Orders in by Tuesday 4pm Cash Orders in by Thursday 4pm
Qkr Orders in by Tuesday 7am Qkr Orders in by Wednesday 7am Qkr Orders in by Friday 7am
Deposits For Camps
Please note that all non-refundable deposits for camps must be paid by parents. CSEF does not cover this cost, however it may/will
cover future instalments for camp.
Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to support you.
Andrew Schaeche,
Principal
PFG News Woolworths Earn and Learn
If your family and friends buy groceries at Woolworths, then please ask them to put their Earn and Learn stickers in the White Hills
Primary School box at the supermarket. There is also a box in the office foyer at the school. This is a great initiative that allows the
school to obtain some fantastic additional resources and equipment.
If you are interested in helping with putting the stickers on the Earn and Learn sheets, please feel free to come to the school staffroom
after morning drop off. It doesn’t get done every day, but you might find someone there doing this task who would really appreciate
your assistance. Thanks to everyone who has helped with this task so far.
Chocolate fundraiser coming soon
As most of you are aware, every year we hold a Cadbury chocolate fundraiser. This year when the Cadbury chocolate drive begins,
we will also have an alternative option. Fundraising bags of Sweet William Chocolate will also be available, but only until stocks
last. This chocolate variety is Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Egg Free, and Vegan. More information will be provided about this
additional option closer to the beginning of the fundraiser. Please let the school office know if you do not want to sell chocolates.
Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be held on Monday the 3rd June at approximately 9:05am in the staffroom. All newcomers are welcome to
attend any meeting! You may bring along younger siblings to our meetings as well. Come and have morning tea with us, a chat
and a laugh, and find out what we do around the school.
Thank you from PFG members
Turtle Pond Upgrade A huge thankyou to those that gave their time and effort to remove most of the
tree on Sunday! Our sincere thanks goes to a small group of volunteers - Sabine,
Phill, Thomas, Mrs Jan Ellis and Matt the Maintenance Man, for removing the
majority of the tree, which has now brought more natural light into this space. It was
not a simple job getting it removed - but they have done a fantastic job! Our next
Working Bee, will be to clear out and clean up the space for painting, and later in the
warmer weather a new pond base to be put in! We look forward to more helping
hands at our next one! Look out for further posts in future Newsletters.
