Please read all instructions before beginning. Pre-washing recommended for hand dyes only.

Prewashing NOT recommended for other fabrics.

Yardages and Cutting WOF is 42" width of fabric from selvedge edge to selvedge edge.

Remove as little fabric as possible when trimming selvedges and squaring strip ends.

1 White Tiger panel • Trim to 33 1/2" x 41 1/2", centering the panel.

1 1/2 yards Jungle Leaves print • 6 strips 7 1/2" x WOF for border.

3/4 yard medium green tonal hand-dye

• 11 strips 1 1/2" x WOF for panel framing and

borders.

3/4 yard jade tonal hand-dye • 7 strips 2 1/4" x WOF for binding.

3/4 yard dark green tonal hand-dye • 4 strips 1 1/2" x WOF for panel framing; trim

(2) strips to 36 1/2" and (2) strips to 41 1/2".

• 7 strips 1 1/2" x WOF for border.

4 yards of 42" backing fabric • 2 strips 72" x WOF

OR

2 yards wide backing fabric • 1 piece 72" x 90"

Batting • 1 piece 72" x 90"

Completing the Quilt Use a 1/4" seam allowance for all stitching. Press all seams toward each strip added.

Refer to the exploded quilt diagram throughout the following steps.

1. Sew the 1 1/2" x 41 1/2" dark green hand-dye strips to the long sides of the panel. Stitch the 1 1/2" x 36 1/2"

strips to the top and bottom.

2. Sew the 1 1/2" x WOF medium green hand-dye strips short ends together to make one long strip. Press

seams to one side. Trim (2) strips each to the following lengths, labeling each pair: 38 1/2", 46 1/2", 54 1/2", and 60

1/2". Stitch the 46 1/2" strips to the long sides of the quilt center and the 38 1/2" strips to the top and bottom of the

quilt center. Label and set aside the remaining (2) pair for step 4 below.

3. Sew the 7 1/2" x WOF jungle leaf strips short ends together to make one long strip. Press seams to one side.

Trim (2) strips each to the following lengths: 46 1/2" and 52 1/2". Stitch the 46 1/2" strips to the long sides of the

quilt center and the 52 1/2" strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center.

4. Using the remaining (2) sets of medium green hand-dye strips from step 2 above, sew the 60 1/2" strips to

the long sides of the quilt center, and the 54 1/2" strips to the top and bottom of the quilt center.

5. Sew the remaining 1 1/2" x WOF dark green hand-dye strips short ends together to make one long strip.

Press seams to one side. Trim (2) strips to 57 1/2" and (2) strips to 62 1/2". Stitch the longer strips to the long sides

of the quilt center and the shorter strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips to complete the quilt

top.

6. If using 42" backing fabric, remove the selvage edges from the backing pieces. Join the pieces on the long

edges with a 1/2" seam allowance. Press seam open. Trim to make the 72" x 90" backing piece.

7. Layer the quilt top with the backing and batting pieces. Quilt as desired. Trim batting and backing even with

the top.

8. Join the jade hand-dye binding strips on the short ends with diagonal seams to make a long strip. Press

seams to one side. Press the strip in half along the length with wrong sides together. Bind the quilt edges using your

favorite method to complete the quilt.
