Girls Touch Rugby Determination and Teamwork… On Sunday 27 th May Whickham School entered three teams into a girls touch Rugby tournament, two year eight teams and a year nine/ten team. The team’s travelled to Morpeth in Northumberland where they were split into the separate teams. All the teams were really exited as they waited for their first game to begin. Whickham’s A team played the first game. The year eight teams came first and second competing against each other in the final with the A team winning. The year nine/ten team also came first in their competition. Chloe Allen was the Captain of Whickham’s year eight A team, Holly French was Captain of Whickham’s year eight B team and Megan Shaw was Captain on the year nine/ten team. Whickham’s A team won all of their games including the final and were awarded a plate. Whickham’s B team only lost once to Whickham’s A team and under 18s only lost to Morpeth RFC. They beat Morpeth’s senior team and the senior team from Durham university.
