MUMBAIMumbai formerly known as Bombay, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populous city in India, and the second most populous city in the world, with a population of approximately 14 million. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbour. Mumbai is also the richest city in India. Mumbai was reshaped by the British and emerged as a significant trading town.

Subodh is eight years old. He comes from a city called Mumbai. Subodh lives in a flat with his mother and father.

Subodh’s father is an engineer.

Subodh’s grandparents live near by. Subodh goes to visit them every day after school. There is a yard whre he can ride his bike.
