RICHMOND CASTLE
Richmond is one of the finest Norman
fortresses in Britain and a very popular
attraction in North Yorkshire. There are
interactive exhibitions and a secluded Cockpit
Garden. The castle hosts regular live action
events and is a great place to take a picnic.
HILDYARD ARMS PUB
The Hildyard Arms is a cosy historic pub and
the long standing local for Colburn town and
village. It’s been around for over 300 years,
and is one of the only traditional pubs in the
Catterick Garrison area.
RICHMOND TRAIN STATION
Richmond station is a historic disused
railway station, and was the terminus of
the Eryholme - Richmond branch line.
Like many early rail stations of its kind,
it boasts some exuberant architecture
and today draws visitors from all over
the country.
EASBY ABBEY
Easby Abbey was founded in 1152. The ruins
are on the eastern bank of the River Swale,
a beautiful spot that became a favourite
subject for artists, including JMW Turner.
