BHS students Allie Walton, junior, and Alex Toole, senior, explored the issue of local youth homelessness first-hand as they lived on the streets of Brunswick for 48

hours. Limiting their resources to ten dollars and food generously donated by the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Food

Pantry, these students documented their experience with a video camera.

They have created a short film, which is a compilation of clips, including their personal

exposure, interviews with local homeless youth, and important adults who work to help these

individuals.  This film is aimed to bring awareness to the issue of youth homelessness in

the Brunswick community, which remains widely misunderstood and unknown. Along with

being shown at Frontier Café, the film was offered to students in Crooker Theater over a

period of two days. Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to borrow a copy

of the film from the BHS library.
