Jaipur, known as the pink city of Rajasthan, witnessed a big congregation of digital and non-digital innovators, entrepre-neurs, startups, and industry leaders, as the Department of Industries and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Government of Rajasthan, and Elets Technomedia Private Limited jointly hosted a day-long eIndia Innovation Summit in Jaipur recently. Technology, and Law and Justice, Government of India, P P Chaudhary inaugurated the summit which included various sessions on subjects like Promotion of Innovations and Industrial Infrastructure across India, Education and Skill Development: Development of Innovations, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Smart and Safe Cities: Innovations in Rajasthan and across India.

Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje has initiated a lot of e-governance initiatives. She has successfully linked Below Poverty Line (BPL) and poor people with e-governance. Rajasthan government has linked BPL families with Bhamashah Yojana. More than five lakh transactions have

been done through this Yojana. We have introduced Point of Sales (PoS) machines in villages now. We want to make a Digital Rajasthan.

Rajasthan has been identified for top nine of the Centre’s 10 core reform areas: construction

permits, environmental registration, labour regulation, obtaining electricity connections, online filing of tax returns, inspections, access to information, transparency and single window clearance system. Rajasthan has successfully eliminated physical touch points for some major regulatory approvals by implementing online systems. The State is now striving for digitalisation of all the back-end operations.

in PoS system in Rajasthan for distribution of wheat, kerosene or sugar is done through biometric verification. We plan to convert every PDS shop in a village in a small rural mall. We are providing 150 to 400 products to around 5,000 such shops.

Mukhyamantri Jal Swavalamban Abhiyan (which is about self-sustainability of water)

has been started by us. We used technology-based tools extensively in this programme for the planning and monitoring of projects. We have used remote sensing technology to predict crop patterns. All our projects have been geo-tagged.

Our Yuva Udyamita Protsahan Yojana has been formulated to

help startups. We have increased the age bracket for giving loans to entrepreneurs from 35 to 45. We have started giving loans to entrepreneurs for land acquisition.

Your Worker’ or ‘Parichayam scheme ‘was launched by GHMC. 2,000 Auto trippers were financed by GHMC for source segregation. 1,116 open garbage points were identified and eliminated.We used Gandhigiri to teach people for not throwing garbage at vulnerable points. We have used Rangoli to dissuade people to throw garbage.

If the gas availability is not synchronised with the industrial

development, the Smart City progress will be delayed. For Udaipur, we can use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) hub. For Ajmer, we can develop bio-gas hub and for Jaipur we can develop with the synchronised relationships.
