Someone is graduating high school or college and beginning a new chapter in her life. Someone else is getting married and beginning a life sharing foreverwith a beloved partner. A baby is born, a new morning of breathing for very small lungs. Someone is retiring after 38 years of commitment that used God given gifts effectively. A family gathers without their matriarch. A time of beginnings. Throughout our lives, we change gears, we change direction, we change our minds, life happens and we experience new beginnings. With the start of something new we might experience the end of something else. My niece is graduating, a new job starts, but college ends. My husband is retiring, days are now his to navigate. I preside at a funeral, family celebrations and holidays change. In our lives we witness many beginnings, and many changes. I remember teaching a Bible class on the book of Hebrews to seventh and eighth graders. We got to one verse, I urged them to memorize, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) It was obvious to me that these students would experience a lot of changes, a lot of new beginnings. I now understand, more than ever, ALL of us experience many new beginnings. I know one thing doesnt change. Jesus Christ loves us and continues to be with us in our time of beginnings. We do well to remember and take great joy in that knowledge. Pray that a new job is fruitful and meaningful. Pray that our partners in life forgive us and relationships grow. Pray that the little ones are protected from harm. Pray that in the next stage of labor God continues to use our skills. Pray for families who miss loved ones. Its a beginning. In peace, Pastor Sue

A time of beginnings. Someone is graduating high school or college and beginning a new chapter in her life. Someone else is getting married and beginning a life sharing ‘forever’

with a beloved partner. We got to one verse, I urged them to memorize, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8) It was obvious to me that these students would experience a lot of changes, a lot of new beginnings. I now understand, more than ever, ALL of us experience many new beginnings. I know one thing doesn’t change. It’s a beginning. In peace, Pastor Sue

Truth for Women is now

“BLOOM” Truth For Women and Bloom Bangor

(2 local women’s crisis organizations),

have announced their merger into a combined non-profit organization

with a new name, Bloom. The blending of both agencies will enable

them to serve more women survivors of human trafficking and assist

our community more effectively.

Both organizations were birthed and rooted in faith and remain

committed to this legacy and the values of integrity and compassion,

confidentiality and courage, best practices and professionalism,

collaboration, as well as an unwavering commitment and persistence

towards ending the injustice of sex trafficking. BLOOM will now

operate three new residential homes in the Lehigh Valley. Our

continued support of this organization is needed greater than ever. The

crime of sex trafficking is second only to drug trafficking in its

profitability, and it occurs in communities throughout our country.

My Sister’s Closet, a women’s upscale, resale boutique continues to

provide financial support for BLOOM. Please support My Sister’s

Closet by donating your gently used professional women’s clothing. We

are currently collecting spring and summer clothing/accessories. No

undergarments. A drop off box is in the women’s restroom area at

St. John’s. Or you can drop them off at the boutique.

Also, a private shopping event has been organized for members of St.

John’s on July 17th, from 3-5pm. My Sister’s Closet is located at 3400

Bath Pike, Suite 103, Rt. 512 (just a short distance off Rt. 22).

Please contact Judi Kalapay for directions if needed. Or call,

610-866-5755. To learn more about My Sister’s Closet or donating,

visit their website at www.shopmysisterscloset.com.

Hope to see you there!

. . . A number of members have

been asking me, “How is the Organ Campaign going?” I have been answering, “Well and moving on track.” The beginning of May, the Organ Renovation Project was completed and we have made our final payment to Emery Brothers, Inc. At the end of April the Campaign raised $30,996. To put that into prospective, the Campaign Goal is $50,000. We have two $10,000 loans to pay off, one to the Memorial Fund and one to the Property Depreciation Account. Reaching our Campaign goal would receive another $19,004. Funds still available from the Campaign are about $700. Together they pay off the two loans. We are doing well and we are on track, but we can not lose our focus and commitment. To reach our goal those who pledged to the Campaign need to continue their fine support. Those who did not pledge and continue to share contributions, your continuous support is critical. To those who have not yet made a contribution, prayerfully consider what you might do. In the first two years of the Campaign there has been a surprise gift each year. Where will this year’s blessed surprise come from? Steve Moyer, Treasurer

Hi everyone. Thank you all who attended The National Day of Prayer Service. We had 5 people altogether and some great discussions. Whenever the President says the country should gather in prayer, I think that is a good thing. Again, Thanks. Pastor
