Starting School
Although Lola agrees with her
brother that it would be useful to
learn how to write, read and
count, she can't go to school
because her invisible friend's
too nervous to go. This title in
the 'Charlie and Lola' series
deals sympathetically with
children's fears surrounding the
first day at school.
Douglas is very
excited to be
going to little
school. There is
so much to do -
and lots of hugs to
be given out!
On the day that Miss Cluck says
there is going to be a new animal
in the class, everyone is very
excited. Then, when Boris takes
his first hairy, scary, grizzly steps
into the classroom, everyone
screams! Of course, Boris doesn't
mean to be scary at all. He only
wants to make friends. Then
something happens that helps
Boris to do just that.
Bunny is very excited about her
first day at school. Can you help
her pack her bag? Lift the flaps
to help Bunny find everything
she needs and use the pull-
down shopping lists to test your
memory in this first experiences
book.
This series looks at some of the life
events that young children may be
nervous about experiencing for the first
time, For example, exploring some of
the emotions or fears children might
have surrounding starting school.
