Winning Tradition

– 13-13 record last season.

Baseball Program Goals
• To create a great high school baseball experience
• To develop players who are ready to play at the next level
• To win the Region Championship (State Championship)
• To teach life lessons through accountability

• Please always check the Wheeler Baseball website for updates concerning pre-season workouts and tryouts.
• Make sure to sign up for emails by registering your student athlete on our website.
• The website will be updated regularly.
Important Dates
• Will be posted on the bulletin board outside my office.
• Pre-Season Workouts:– Start on October 5th
– Monday, Wednesday before school on the track.• 6:45am-7:45am.
– Tuesday, Thursday after school in the weight room. • 4pm-5:30pm.
• NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD AT 5:30PM.

KEY PARK RULES/EXPECTATIONS:
• Use of any baseball facility needs to be approved by Scott Haddock or our AD
• All unapproved use is considered trespassing
• Please respect the all of our new facilities.
Player Expectations
• PLEASE ATTEND ALL PRE-SEASON WORKOUTS!
• PASS ALL OF YOUR CLASSES – If you fail 2 classes, you are not eligible to play a sport in the
spring– Must pass ¾ or 3/3.
• All transfer students must complete a Form B.
• Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
• HUSTLE EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!
Player Expectation
• Represent yourself and your team with class, on and off the field
• Respect others including COACHES, TEACHERS, AND ADMINISTRATORS
• Know that practice time is important
Parent Communication
• Open Door Policy– School related issues– Family situations– Personal problems– College advice
• Close Door Policy– Playing time– Positions– On the field communication
Parent Expectation
• Parents are not allowed in the dugout
• Parents are not allowed to talk to players through the fence, especially in the on deck circle or dugout during games
• Always respect others including umpires, opposing fans and players
• Support all players on your team
Very Important Dates
• February 15th-19th (No School)– We will play games during this break.
• April 4th -8th (Spring Break)– Please plan on attending all practices and games.
*Missing these dates will cause you to lose playing time

Physical Information
• You must have a current physical to participate in pre-season workouts
• Completed Concussion Agreement

Ideals Leadership Program
• A 10-week course for Juniors and Seniors. – We will meet every Thursday morning in the media
center at 7am
– Start week of October 5th. – Sign up if interested on the baseball bulletin board– This does not guarantee you will make the baseball team
A Parent’s Role
• How can you help the Wheeler Baseball program?
– Volunteer for the booster club– Volunteer on team field work days– Volunteer to help in the concession stand– Volunteer over the summer– Look for ways to help ensure our facilities are
clean and first class condition.– Support the entire program financially– Support your kid! He needs a fan, not a coach.
What do you get out of your investment?
• Three months of weight training (not including baseball season)
• Four to five months of baseball
• At least forty-five practices (skill development)
• College and pro-ball recruiting help (if requested)
