The Circle of Intimacy?The first circle is used to represent people who have an INTIMATE relationship with the focus person.

For example……. Husband or Wife, Partner, Lover, Mum, Dad, Brother or Sister etc.....

The second circle is used to represent FRIENDSHIPS* in the lives of the focus person.

FRIENDSHIP

* For example people they speak to and see on a regular basis, but are not as close to them as those in the first circle.

Participation

The third Circle is used to represent PARTICIPATION in the lives of the focus person.

*For example, people they really like but only see occasionally or people who come in and out of their lives.

The fourth circle is the CIRCLE OF EXCHANGE which represents the people who are paid to be in the lives of the focus person.

* For example a Support Worker, a Doctor, a Dentist, the Milkman or a Hairdresser.
