Purpose

Provide training and technical assistance to state teams working to implement CCR standards sustainably and at scale.

Advanced Implementation Support

When: Spring 2015 through 2016 (application in December 2014)

For whom: 12 state adult education teams (5 and 7 members each) with state and local program representation

Selection process: Through an application process and meeting certain criteria, such as: • the ability to form a dedicated implementation team

• a commitment to apply what is learned

• the capacity to extend training to other programs and instructors in their home jurisdiction

Three Forms of CCR Support

1. Face-to-face national training workshops

2. Two coaches—one in each discipline—to assist

each team in moving implementation forward

3. Ongoing technical assistance and onsite visits

Deeper Levels of EngagementWith the Key Advances, Workshop I

Curriculum: Aligning adult education resources

through application of CCR-specific rubrics and cross-

team work and translating CCR standards into aligned

lesson content and instructional practices.

Process: Team members learn how to use the tools

and innovations, apply them in their programs, and

then roll-out the training (with coach support) to others

across the state.

Deeper Levels of EngagementWith the Key Advances, Workshop II

Curriculum: Strengthening instructor assignments

and student work and instituting content-specific

observation protocols to target professional

development.

Process: Team members learn how to use the tools

and innovations, apply them in their programs, and

then roll-out the training (with coach support) to

others across the state.

Ongoing Technical Assistanceand Site Visits

Coaches will work with state teams during and in

between the national workshops to help teams respond

to CCR implementation challenges as they arise.

Coaches will assist teams in how to best accomplish

statewide implementation.

Coaches will participate in the planning and delivery of

on-site trainings after each workshop to assist with the

initial roll-out.

Participating state teams will build their capacity to implement CCR standards through:

1. Professional development models that can be replicated with other instructors and programs statewide.

2. Tailored training materials and processes.

3. Customized technical assistance.

4. New resources to use in CCR implementation efforts.

5. Opportunities to collaborate with other adult education programs.
