Ok the deed has been done. We opened the sacred bottle. Thestuff was really really good. I don't like whiskey and I enjoyedit. The fellows seemed to enjoy it.We also had Pahrump Valleywine. Gave them each a bottle to enjoy at home. I think theywere pleased.

The Fried dill pickles were a success. Enjoyed by all. Thecompany was an even bigger succes. I do not think any of uswere disappointed.

I have a funny feeling we will be doing this again.

Actually, the Lord Calvert was 54 years old. It was ten yearsold when it was bottled and sealed in 1957.

It was about the smoothest whisky that I have ever tried andI have tried several. It was so smooth that I had to test itseveral times.

The only complaint that I had was that I had to keep addingice with each test.

It seemed to make Rabbit introspectrive. He was checking theinside of his eyelids for light leaks when Skosh, Howard and Ileft his and Debbie's room.

Yes we will have to do it again, this time with a longerplanning time. There is still a half bottle of Lord Calvert totest. We have to make sure it is good to drink and testing isthe only way!

Frank,

Don't make Rabbit look bad. He was thinking about those frieddill pickles. I think he might be addicted. It looked like he wasdreaming about one more plate of those suckers.

No folks our Rabbit was not drunk. He had had very littlesleep. They drove over on Saturday night and waited to checkinto their room Sunday afternoon. They didn't nap beforemeeting up with Red Ryder and myself. We had him out latenot even thinking how long they had been up.They were upMonday early to catch me as soon as I got to work. They did abunch of running around all day and then caught up withFrank.

It's nice to know that he was comfortable enough with us tofall asleep and not feel he needed to watch his back. Actuallyhe should have been watching the cameras.

Okra Wind-free lost. It was really good, I'm stillremembering the way the flavors blended and how it burnedjust right, and the okra, beans and sausage had a goodtexture... and it got eaten all right... but it lost out to somegreen chili that I must admit was good. I figure people justcan't handle okra this far away from down south. But I got afew votes. Sniff. Never thought I'd care.

Well, next year I'm going to politely suggest the green chilibe separated from the red chili. Apples and pears, they are.Oranges and grapefruits.

Thanks for the encouragement! It was fun.

Strange indeed, but wonderful Brenda

BTW, one of my best friends is the bartender at our Legion. She's been on cable for a couple of years now.... I used hername as a reference and for each referral she gets a month'sfree service. She's doin' just fine as our local Cable Company hasdropped their rates, halved their installation fee and people areconnecting like crazy.

Ah, Foreigner. Cold as Ice. 1977. the year my sister Pam had aboyfriend named Roger who had a bitchin' orange Camaro andthey'd pull up in the driveway and make out and Foreigner musicwould be blasting on the radio.

I didn't respect Roger too much--he looked like he'd grow up to besome kind of career sales person in a sterile corporation. Myapologies to all you sales people in sterile corporations out there...you know what's good about that, I don't.
