Our ProcessHow we have approached providing students with access to legal online entertainment services
We had great interest from our members about solving this collectively
Cost was always a roadblock -- nobody wanted to pay
Our Process, Cont’dThe process for making a decision or getting to our current position
OSHEAN had been in conversation with several service providers, including Ruckus
Ruckus’ new ad-based model, and the ability to install the caching server at the OSHEAN core was appealing
The ability to combine the subscriptions of several member institutions to reach the 3000 minimum allowed smaller schools to join
One member did decline, because of concerns with social networking feature of Ruckus
Marketing assistance – emails, post cards, banners
Our Process, Cont’d
What’s next – if the process or examination is ongoing Rolling out new services that are
offered by Ruckus Moving the cache server to the
NEREN network to provide access for entire Northeast region
