2016 is a special year for Bodysgallen as we are celebrating three anniversaries. It will be 35 years since Bodysgallen Hall opened as an hotel in 1981 following its rescue and restoration by Historic House Hotels, and those who were in North Wales at that time remember the transformation that has been effected to this splendid house. More and more visitors are coming to Bodysgallen to visit the area, and all the wonderful things on offer in North Wales.

Also, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Bodysgallen Spa. This has now been enhanced with the introduction of Darphin as our principal treatment and product range, and also offers other treatments such as Environ and Jessica, in comfortable and relaxing surroundings, with attentive and professional staff.

Last but not least for me personally, it was in 1996 that I fi rst came to Bodysgallen as Hotel Manager. It has been a period of enormous enjoyment and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our esteemed guests, for all the kind things you have said and written to me over this period. I would also like to pay tribute to all the staff members who have been so supportive over the last twenty years. This anniversary coincides with my returning to Hartwell House in early 2016 to succeed Mr Jonathan Thompson who is retiring from his position there. It was in 1993 that I started my career at Hartwell House prior to moving to Bodysgallen Hall. My long-serving Deputy Manager Elgan Roberts will succeed me as General Manager, supported by another long-serving member of the management team Steven Kean. Promotion takes time in Historic House Hotels, but continuity rules! I will remain in contact with Bodysgallen and North Wales and you will see me here from time to time. All of the team at Bodysgallen Hall join us in greatly looking forward to seeing you again and giving you the warm welcome, which we like to think, is our truly Welsh speciality.

Choose to stay at Bodysgallen Hall for two nights before the end of March, Sunday to Thursday and receive the second night for only £20.16! Pastel Painting Demonstration – Winter LandscapeWednesday 20th January - £37.50

We are delighted to welcome back Paul Pigram, artist, to give us a live art demonstration on the technique of soft pastel painting with a winter theme. Paul is a member of the North Wales Society of Fine Art and a Professional Associate of the Society for All Artists, and offers pastel painting workshops and classes to art groups and societies throughout the UK.

Spring Floristry DemonstrationWednesday 16th March - £37.50

It is always a pleasure to welcome back florists Sioned Rowlands and Jenny Wallis of Tulipa Blodau, who will demonstrate their special artistry with flowers. Weather permitting, Sioned will guide you on a walk in the gardens pointing out flowers and foliage suitable for flower arranging. Floral displays will be raffled for taking away with you.

Friday 18th March“A tour of the Vineyards of Italy” with Robin Nugent

Our host for the evening is Robin Nugent of Alliance Wines, who has extensive knowledge of the Italian vineyards and will guide us through the various selected regions. A 3-course dinner will accompany the evening’s wines, all at £69.50 per person.

Dress code for both evenings is Lounge suits.

Friday 5th February “Wines of Champagne” Dinner with Jeremy Platt

Jeremy Platt, who is a member of the Champagne Academy, will talk us through the regions and various styles of wine produced in this magnificent area. Accompanying these wines will be a 4-course gourmet dinner created by Head Chef John Williams, all for £79.50 per person.

Garden Tours with Robert Owen, our Head GardenerOur Head Gardener, Robert Owen and his team take delight in planning and hosting an exciting programme of tours throughout the Spring. His tours will provide you with an insight into the seasonal work and on-going restoration that continues in the gardens of Bodysgallen Hall, which were featured on television when Christine Walkden interviewed Robert in her BBC One programme “Glorious Gardens from Above”.
