• Staff and guests recently celebrated the GrandOpening for Freedom Bank’s new branch loca-tion in Mahwah. The newest branch location at380 Route 17 South in Mahwah, NJ. It is thebank’s fourth retail branch in Northern New Jersey,preceded by locations in Maywood, Ridgewoodand Guttenberg.

Among the many local dignitaries and bank di-rectors present for the grand opening ceremonywere Mahwah Mayor, William Laforet; Presidentof Ramapo College, Dr. Peter P. Mercer; Execu-tive Director of the MRCC, Sharon Rounds andCEO of Freedom Bank, Matthew Carcich.

• Earlier this year, the Mahwah RegionalChamber of Commerce Foundation was pleasedto award scholarships to Lauren Paolillo andJoshua Phillips. Lauren is a graduate of BergenCounty Technical High School, and began herstudies in English at Muhlenberg College in Al-lentown this fall. Joshua, a graduate of Hacken-sack High School, currently attends HowardUniversity in Washington, majoring in political

Science. These two $2,000 scholarships areawarded annually to qualified applicants and arenot limited to their choice of schools nationwide.

• Since opening the LifeStyles Medical FitnessCenter at the Valley Center for Health and Well-ness on February 1st 2018, the Wellness Centerhas continued to evolve and grow. In April theValley Hospital outpatient physical therapy suiteopened and offers a range of physical therapy ser-vices including low-impact therapy in our warmwater aquatic therapy pool. June saw the openingof our Valley Medical Group Walk-In Care servicewhich offers immediate care for a number ofhealthcare needs such asrespiratory and sinus is-sues, rashes, ear infections,sprains and strains, fluvaccines, flu testing and much more. Super JuiceNation also opened in June. Our comprehensivediagnostic imaging suite opened in August and isequipped with x-ray, MRI, CT Scan, ultrasoundand mammography machines. Finally, the ValleyHealth retail pharmacy and gift shop is expectedto open in November and will accept a variety ofinsurance plans.These services, combined withthe LifeStyles Medical Fitness Center that fea-tures a comprehensive fitness center including asix-lane lap pool, warm-water leisure pool andwhirlpool, group exercise studios, a rock-climbingwall, gymnasium and state-of-the-art fitnessequipment, create a true healthcare hub to servethe northern Bergen County community.

• NJBG, the nonprofit support group for theNew Jersey State Botanical Garden in Ring-wood, has been working to restore the historicCarriage House Visitor Center. This classic build-ing dates to the 1880s, and is in serious need of re-pair. In 2017, NJBG saw to replacement ofunderground cabling and the building’s electricalsystem. This year the group tackled asbestos re-mediation and is currently replacing the roof. Thispreservation work is underwritten by generous do-nations from NJBG members and patrons.

your commitment to the MRCC. We know your

time is valuable and are so appreciative that

you choose to spend it with us.

It has been an honor to serve as your President

over the last three years. So many of you are

not only colleagues but friends. It has been a

wonderful experience getting to work with you

to help you grow your businesses, make

introductions and give back to the community.

As we move into the holidays I hope that you

will all make time to enjoy your friends and

families.
