Issue 3. While ago I spent a few days at one of our Animal Health Client’s corporate offices. My time there revealed a great deal of information about people and how they do business. We took numerous pictures of offices and interviewed several people. We matched up what we learned about a person and what their office looked like. These match ups revealed an astounding connection that how a person keeps their office reflects how they think and make decisions. Take a look at the office pictured above. As you can tell this is a highly organized person. This office reflects two key things with the first being fixed behaviors (everything has a place and everything is in its assigned place) and the second being an intellectual focus (objective thinking and is mainly information based, little signs of family and people). The arrow marked #1 reflects symmetry, there is an equal number calling cards on the left side and right side. This shows the person is a logical thinker that organizes their thoughts before speaking. Arrow #1A are 6 airplanes, 3 in front and 3 in back, also representing symmetry. Arrow #2 are four folders arranged left to right by importance. What the picture doesn’t show you is that within each folder subjects are arranged by importance with the highest importance on top. This tells you that they have a skill of prioritizing by what’s believed is most important. Arrow #3 shows the alignment of the bottoms of the hanging papers, this is showing that things must fit into an organized scheme to be viewed when needed. This also reflects a “seeing is believing” attitude. You don’t tell this person about it you need to show them. We discovered that besides an “organized” office thinker, there are offices that reflect “hurry up and get it done” thinkers, we “can do better” thinkers, and “people are the key” thinkers. There are at least 2 other obvious clues in this picture. Can you find them and determine what they mean? How much time does it take to get to know a person? 6 months, one year? If you can see their office you would know a lot about them in less than 30 seconds. I’m not crazy. All of us are giving off clues and cues as to how we think and make decisions. These clues are reflected in how we keep our office. Too many people look at others and spend an inordinate amount of time trying to figure them out when simple cues and clues can give us a good understanding. Everyone is giving off clues and cues as to how we think and make decisions all the time. You just have to know how to spot them. What Does Your Office Say About You?

Volume 1.

This office reflects

two key things with the first being fixed behaviors (everything has a place and everything is in its assigned place) and the second being an intellectual focus (objective thinking and is mainly information based, little signs of family and people).

The arrow marked #1 reflects symmetry, there is an equal number calling cards on the left side and right

side.

Too many people look at others and spend

an inordinate amount of time trying to figure them out when simple cues and clues can give us a good understanding. Everyone is giving off clues and cues as to how we think and make decisions all the time. You just have to know how to spot them.
