U.S. equipment market is rebounding. Road and home building are on the rise, resulting in an increase in construction equipment pricing and demand, especially for compaction equipment, loader backhoes, and excavators.
Used construction equipment prices are rising. As of Jan 2014, all construction equipment 175hp and up must be Tier 4 certified.
As a result prices for new equipment are rising, and used prices are following suit.
Ag equipment prices facing headwinds. Commodity pricing has fallen and the elimination of the Section 179 Deduction in the U.S. could affect used farm equipment prices.

Used transport truck sales strong in 2013 and continue into 2014. There is a good market for low-mileage, pre-emission trucks (without particulate filters, urea burners, etc.).
Equipment rental is up. There is hesitancy to buy – the economy has improved in the short term but the longer term economic climate is still unknown – and the average age of rental fleets has increased due to increased demand.
