Katie Moncaster, Bethany Maggs, Wesley Clarke, Benjamin Shackleton, Jim Cahill and several extras to create a Mise-En-Scene

This scene is particularly important because it initiates our story as it is interesting as it’s a party and we associate parties with being fun and sociable

We also learn the concept and idea that the boys are labelled with the food

We have music on low to create the ‘party atmosphere’ but can also hear our actors and actresses clearly

Scene 1 – Party Scene

Katie Moncaster and Bethany Maggs

This shows us opinions from her friend as we see that Mia (main actress) has been very unlucky with her dates

The screen will show Mia and Ruby in two different locations as they will be on the phone in their homes, so we get the point of view clearly

Scene 2 – On The Phone

Page 4: What our scenes mean

Katie Moncaster and Sam Owens

This is the first flashback that follows on from the phone call scene

It demonstrates that Robbie (date) is associated with greasy fish n chips, as he looks a bit sleazy himself

It also shows he hasn’t put a great deal of effort into the date as it is a take away

He’s a simple guy

Scene 3 – Fish N Chips

Katie Moncaster and Jordan Anderson

This is the second flashback – it shows yet another unsuccessful date which relates to food

He’s stereotyped as a pretty boy who isn’t very romantic and rushes the date along so he can go back to his house

He takes her to McDonald’s because it is a fast food restaurant and the fact that we set the scene so they are in a car, also relates to the idea of getting things over and done with

Katie Moncaster and David Field This is just to add her routine into her preparation

for the date She meets a boy who works at the Co-Op so he can

offer her help or an idea It also creates characterisation with David (Sam in

the film) as he is introduced to the story purposely to represent that he’s a nice, genuine guy whose happy to help

It is set in the Co-Op to show she is really struggling and picking her food up but she is really worried as her friend, Ruby shows her at the beginning that whatever this guy eats will relate to the guy himself

Scene 5 – Co-Op

This is the third and final flashback

It again, shows us that Mia has had an unsuccessful date

He goes to her house, and she cooks a meal for the two of them hoping it will go really well and she offers him an alcohol beverage but he says he does not drink and from there, we realise he is awkward, self righteous and stuck up

This is the end scene

This is a resolution to our film

We see David (Sam in the film) walking down the street, looking for Mia’s house. It is a real build up because all we can see at the start is the boy’s feet. Once Mia answers the door, we see Mia’s reaction as she says ‘it’s you, come in’ and also Sam’s as he shows a surprised and delighted expression.

This ends our film well because we learnt about Sam in the scene prior to Scene 7.
