What Martial Arts School Should you look for in Fort Worth TX?

When it comes to training martial art, I think it's very hard to make the decision which martial arts you should take because you have, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing those are in the MMA related Martial Arts, or in my humble opinion Martial Arts that actually work and then you have traditional martial arts which are good for certain aspects. Traditional martial arts you have weapons (Knives, Guns) stuff like that. You see you have to go into this knowing exactly what you wanna accomplish with your martial arts training. You need to decide which martial art you will enjoy the most. The first and most important thing for me was and still is what martial arts really work? What do I wanna get from my martial arts training? The community, the sense of being a part of something, you can get that from TK gyms or Karate gyms. You can get that also from Jiu-Jiutsu Gym, Muay Thai or MMA. In my opinion most martial arts don’t work, I'm not talking bad about another martial art, I’m just saying that this for real life self-defense skills, Jiu-Jitsu is proven to work. Now if you want to train with weapons or whatever, you can go to Karate. What do I want to accomplish with my martial arts training? That should be the question. Do I wanna be a part of something, do I wanna learn self-defense? Or do I wanna learn weapon self-defense? Do I wanna learn a combination of the two? Now if you want to learn the combinations of two you probably are going to have to go to separate places. Most of the time a good Jiu-Jitsu/MMA Gym doesn’t deal with guns or knife and stuff like that, (which I think is really good training could possibly save your lives someday with all the crazy things going around the world, it's always good to do that type of training also.) I've done some Knife training and I really enjoyed it, I know enough that if get in a knife fight that I am going to be stabbed. That's one of the

things that you need to know, that's the scariest thing if you get a knife fight even if you both have knives and the other guy is the best world he's gonna get stab, I’m probably gonna die because I'm not the best in the world but I'm going to cut him and possible kill him. Learning about martial arts, and before you join a gym make sure you do your research so you are able to get the most from your training. Make sure whoever is going to become your instructor/coach has accomplish similar goals that you would like for yourself. There is nothing worse than being a year into your training and finally figuring out that your instructor has no idea on how to help you accomplish your goals. When I started training Jiu-Jitsu I went to Carlos Machado a cousin of the Gracies (The founders of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) and trained with him. I actually moved to Texas from South Dakota to train with him that is how motivated I was to train with the right people. This is one of the reason that I was able to acomplish as much as I did in the Sport.
