Anchor Text: A clickable part of a link from one web page to another via text.

Relevance: Links that originate from sites/pages on the same topic as the publisher’s site, or a closely related topic.

Context: A deeper context of the page linking with factors like: nearby links, page placement, nearby text, close section header, overall page context, and overall site context.

Authority: Sites that are linked to by most of the important sites relevant to a particular topic.

Source TLD’s: The notion that certain TLD’s have preferential treatment (.edu, .gov, .mil, etc.) They all have the same treatment based on authority, relevance and trust. Different site topics require different TLD’s to make sense within their field.

Trust: How easy or difficult it is for spammers to get links on a particular site.

Source Independence: Links received from third party sites.

Linking Domains: A singular link from 100 websites has more value than 100 links from the same website.

Source Diversity: The percentage of links coming to your site based on the linking sites type. (Blog, Directory, Review, Article, News, Social, Etc.)

Temporal Factors: Timely factors pertaining to links. A few factors like: When did the link first appear? When did the link disappear? How long has the link existed? How quickly were the links published?
