• A service in the Library to support eResearch
• This means supporting the traditional areas of eResearch• Research data management• Collaboration• High Performance Computing• Visualisation
• We also provide• Support for Open Scholarship
• Flinders Academic Commons• ARC/NHMRC open access requirements
• Statistical Consulting• University’s Statistical Consultant, Pawel Skuza
What eResearch@Flinders does
• For high performance computing, collaboration and visualisation tools• We can refer researchers to new tools, provide advice and
broker the usage of new services• Eg Quadrant, the Genomics Virtual Laboratory and the
Australian Research Cloud
What eResearch@Flinders does
• For open scholarship– We operate the Flinders Academic Commons open access
repository– Provide a service to ensure open access requirements of
ARC and NHMRC are met• Copyright checking• Advise on appropriate versions• Metadata creation in accordance with requirements• Uploading to the repository• Advice on compliance at reporting time
– We can also provide an open access home for other publications
• Journals eg Transnational Literature• Reports eg The Australian Corneal Graft Registry 2012 Report

• Pawel Skuza, the University’s Statistical Consultant provides– One on one statistical consulting– Face to face training sessions for staff and HDR students– Access to online training for very advanced statistical
methodologies and software

• We can support the creation of data management plans for research projects (excellent for ARC grant applications)
• Linking information about projects and researchers with the data to be created
• Estimates of data storage requirements• Ethics, privacy and any sensitivities• IP and copyright• Data Access and Reuse• Disposal
• We can refer researchers to different data storage options and broker the use of new services (including supporting/drafting applications for merit based storage)
• We can support open data requirements of research grants• We can create metadata records for datasets to be exposed
through Research Data Australia
