WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE ARTIST? Artists DESIGN- they create architectural and

functional structures, fashion, and crafts. Artists RECORD- they preserve images for historical

reference- Before the invention of the camera, images were recorded by painting, drawing, or sculpting.

Artists help to UNDERSTAND the Unknown- they record what cannot be seen with the eyes or what has not yet occurred ( the imagination, dreams, floods, images of God).

Artists give tangible form to FEELINGS- they express love, fear, exhilaration, anger, etc.

Artists offer a way of SEEING- they help to visualize the unknown, portray feelings, stretch one's ability to see.
