What is Acid Rain?
By Allegra, Angelina and Graciela
Fossil Fuels
By burning fossil fuels in our homes, our cars and factories, we release sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide into the air and mixes in with the oxygen.
Chemicals
Sulfur dioxide and Nitrogen oxide can escape from smokestacks, chimneys and tailpipes. They can also fall to Earth with dry particles such as dust. They also mix with water and form acid.
Domino Effect
Acid Rain starts with a domino effect, it starts effecting the plants, then the bugs and herbivores, then the omnivores, then the carnivores which wipes out us.
How we Can Help
We should try to cut down on using electricity, because the gas releases sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide that forms acid and can turn into ACID RAIN!!!!
