Main ingredients in a successful school / agent partnership
Australia has gained ground in the overall attractiveness of study destinations while Canada inched ahead of the UK to be ranked 2nd
USA is the most attractive study destination (73%), Canada 2nd (64%), UK 3rd (63%), Australia 4th (53%) and New Zealand is 5th (33%) ahead of Germany (28%)
US is perceived to be the best in terms of UG, Graduate, MBA and Work & Travel, UK for ESL, secondary schools and foundation courses, Australia for vocational
Canada has gained significant ground, overtaking the UK for second place (up 15% on 2008 -> US +5%, UK -8%, Australia +4%, NZ +4% on 2008 figures)
HE is growing in popularity, with Undergraduate and Graduate figures up considerably and 8 out of 10 agents expecting further growth in 2014
Location & cost remain most important drivers, but access to visas and int l student support have risen - 78% of agents said they are increasingly concerned about study visas especially in the UK, Canada and Australia. Conclusions from the Agent Barometer 2013Conclusions from the Agent Barometer 2013
Perceptions drive student / parent choices & agent preferences. StudyGoldCoast needs to change student & agent perceptions to secure a larger market share
1st language communications & personal interactions via seminars, training at agent workshops & during agent FAM tours can be effective ways to achieve this
Market Australia first, then the Gold Coast, then your institution
Receiving students is one thing. Graduating brand advocates is another. High quality student support services are critical, via schools + the wider community.
Institutions should not get on the starting blocks until they are ready. You won’t get a second chance to make a good first impression with agents.
Australia is a very agent dependent market. Engage with more agents.
The Gold Coast is a world class study destination. Go out and tell the world !! Recommendations for StudyGoldCoastRecommendations for StudyGoldCoast
