How what I have learned from the video will help me in designing my own film poster

What this video has shown me is just how easy it is to make a film poster. There is a clear formula to follow, and this is good as even if you have no idea what to do you can follow the general layout of most film posters and produce your own quite easily, as once you have your title, strapline, contractuals and credit block in, all you need to do is fit an image around that. It has also taught me that using the rule of thirds is a good way to decide the layout of your picture, for example you may want the stars of the film arranged in threes, or have a sunset or horizon a third up or down the page.
