Photo Shop!

• One of the main areas of which I have felt I have progressed the most would be the use of photo-shop. At the begging of the year I had herd of It but never seen it opened up or actually used it.

• One of our first small tasks at the very begging of this year was to get a image off the internet of a magazine, open it up in photo shop and then copy it using the various different tools. I found this task incredibly hard but at the same time useful. I was able to play around with the different tools and come to terms with how photo shop works.

School Magazine

Here is a Picture of my First school magazine. I wasn’t to sure on how photo shop worked when I made this front cover. I feel I have progressed while making this front cover. During the making of this magazine front cover I relied on a lot of help from my peers and teachers. I wasn’t sure about layers or how to edit the photos. On this magazine cover I have learnt how to add simple text to the image, which I have arranged onto the magazine front cover. I also learnt how to add a simple colored background which I used on my school magazine aimed at a younger age group.

Music Magazine• I have progressed with the use of photo

shop throughout the course which is evidenced through my music magazines. I learnt how to cut around images, crop photographs, and add them to my magazine cover. I learnt more about layers and how they could help me create a better effect for my magazine, for example if I wanted the writing to be in front of a shape I learnt that the layer for the text had to be higher than the layer for the shape. I also learnt how to add effects to the text. In my school magazine the text is boring and plain where as on this magazine the text has different effects such as placing them on a angle/ adding a glow around them to make them stand out more.

Overall I feel I have I progressed far with the use of photo shop. At the begging of the year I didn’t have any idea on how to use it but now I feel I have the basic knowledge plus some more experienced knowledge to create something to a high standard. I know can sit at a computer with photo shop open and edit photos in a way In which I want with very little help from anyone else. I wouldn’t say im brilliant with the use of Photoshop but my skills have developed enough which is shown when people have asked me for help with the editing of photos.

Publisher

Publisher is another important programme which has also helped me to create my music magazine. I mainly used publisher on my contents and double page spread, this helped me to insure the columns were lined up straight to give the magazine a high quality standard. I feel I haven’t progressed in publisher as much as I have in photo shop but this is because I already knew a fair amount about publisher before we used it to help with our magazines. I did learn however how to edit the text and add effect to them to create a better image for the audiences looking at the magazines.
