David Beckham, OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English footballer, who plays in midfield. He plays for and captains MLS's LA Galaxy and AC Milan in Italy and is also a member of the England national team. He earned his much publicised

100th cap for England against France in March 2008. He has twice been runner-up for FIFA World Player of the Year. He was Google

's most searched of all sports topics in both 2003 and 2004. Beckham was captain of England from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006.

Beckham's career began when he signed a professional contract with Manchester United, making his first-team début in 1992 aged 17. However, he started learning his trade in Leyton East London where he was born. During his time there, United won the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, and

the UEFA Champions League in 1999. He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons.

Alongside his career as a footballer, Beckham has gained a significant amount of fame and celebrity status through his marriage to former Spice Girl

Victoria Beckham, leading to various sponsorship deals and advertising campaigns and an estimated joint wealth of £112 million. The couple have three

sons and currently reside in Beverly Hills, California.

Kenneth Robert Livingstone (born 17 June 1945) is a British socialist politician. He has twice held the leading political role in London local

government: firstly as leader of the Greater London Council from 1981 until the council was abolished in 1986 by the government of Margaret Thatcher, and secondly as the first Mayor of London, a post he held from its creation in 2000 until 2008. He also served as Labour Party Member of Parliament for

Brent East between 1987 and 2001.He was initially elected as Mayor of London as an Independent candidate after the Labour Party chose not to nominate him as their candidate in the first mayoral elections. In January 2004, he was re-admitted to the Labour

Party. He stood as the official Labour Party candidate for Mayor in the June 2004 elections, which he won with a total of 828,380 first- and second-preference votes. On May 1, 2008 Livingstone was defeated in his second re-election bid by Conservative candidate Boris Johnson, and his term as

Mayor of London ended on 4 May 2008.He has announced his intention to run again for the post of London mayor in

2012. In the meantime, he has been appointed as an adviser for urban planning to Hugo Chávez.
