It’s becoming a well renowned fact that breaking into the creative indus-try as a graphic designer is like trying to climb mount Everest in flip flops. It’s not the easiest task at hand, and now being faced with this monumen-tal challenge you start to question what it is that gets you into the dream agency you’ve always wanted to work for?

I’m emailing out to as many profes-sional’s within the creative industry as I can to collect thoughts, ideas, methods, and opinions on what a graphic designer needs to learn to do to successfully function in the 21st century?

I understand that the last thing on your mile long to do list would be to answer these questions. But, this is something that needs an opinion, and should be discussed. All the informa-tion will be valuable content to a 12-page newspaper publication that will be printed to publicise and promote FdA Graphic Design for Communica-tion course, and the LCC Faculty of Design at the end of the year degree show. It will also be used to be sent out to people wishing to know more about the college, course and graphic design.

This may not be something signifi-cant to an agency or freelance design-ers; but it is something that design agencies should be doing. Breaking down the gap between students and professionals, guiding what is fun-damentally ‘the future of the design world’. Your name may not be seen by hundreds of thousands, but your opinions and ideas are gold dust to young up and coming designers. So lets start sharing...
