What do horror titles look like?

This movie title is also particularly effective as it looks as if blood has been spattered across the letters which signifies death and therefore gives the impression that some people in the movie are killed. The fact that the word house is the only one in red is also quite effective as it emphasizes to us that this movie is based around a house. A common theme with both of these horror titles is that they have both used the colour red. This re-inforces that the main colour associated with horror is red. From looking at the horror title for Insidious we can instantly tell that this is a horror movie. The reasoning for this is that the colour of the font red is often widely associated with the genre of horror. As well as this the letters look as if there are in very low key lighting and the background is completely black which further adds mystery to this and makes it look quite sinister. The font used is also particularly effective because it looks quite old and gothic, it also looks as if part of the letters have been worn away, also adding to this idea.

This title is very different to the titles that I was looking at before. This title looks as if it has been written in the form of writing on a road. This is effective as it reflects what the movie may be about. The fact that the word mile is also in the title shows us that this movie could be about a journey of some sort.
