Conclusions• Some students find success ONLY in creative
arts classes• As difficult as it may be to motivate the
unmotivated, our goal is to find ways to inspire and stimulate these individual students
• Some students also refuse to do creative arts work, resulting in lower grades
• Excessive absences lead to lower grades

in the Bottom 30, do find success ONLYin creative arts classes

Recommendations• Continue finding ways to teach Creative Arts that
support core subjects• Continue teaching a “discipline” that can be used
in other classes• Continue with administrators, secretaries
and support personnel to follow attendance procedures; most importantly, for the first hour teacher to contact parents during the first seven days that a student is absent and document that contact
