Teachers can quickly tweet a homework assignment, project reminder, teaching moment of the day or even school emergency without taking time to log in and keep up a blog. Parents can have up to the minute information if they follow you.

Teachers may want to keep their Twitter account strictly professional or set up an account that will only be used with your class.
