Principal’s report
Congratulations Natalia!
Last week was an event Natalia Shimpf will never
forget! Natalia as part of the Riverina choir, travelled to
Sydney to perform in the School’s Spectacular. Natalia
sang as part of a massive student choir. An amazing
experience for Natalia (& mum Katrina!). We are very
proud of you!
Medallion Congratulations
Well done to the many students who were awarded
with their Merit medallion on Monday. These students
have attained a total of 8 classroom merit awards
through their terrific efforts and achievements
throughout the year. A special occasion for our
kindergarten children who were receiving their very
first medallions; but also to many of our Year 6
students for whom this was their last.
Presentation Night
Our annual Presentation evening is being held this
Thursday 8 December at the Junee High MPC. The
event will commence at 6:30 pm. This is our celebration
of a wonderful year of achievement for our students. It
is a night where we recognize and award students for
their academic, sporting, cultural achievements.
Who will be our captains?
Presentation Night will also be a very nervous time for
19 of our Year 5 students. Last Wednesday 9 boys and
10 girls delivered some wonderful speeches to their
peers. Well done to our boy nominees: Linus
Schachtner, Charlie McEwen, Cooper Wright, Zach
Sheppard, Julian Schachtner, Ryan Rogers, Bayley
Guinan, Jack Armstrong and Benjamin Gallop. Well
done to our girl nominees: Isabella Cameron, Annabell
Eccleston, Ella Fitzgerald, Chelsea O’Rafferty, Grace
Robertson, Felicity Davis, Paige Vanzanten, Madeleine
Cameron, Tiger-lilly Kemp, Dimity-Lee Crocker. Votes
have been tallied, with our 2017 captains and vice
captains being announced at Presentation Night.
Good luck to our nominees!

2017 Staffing
Congratulations to Stephanie Walters who was
successful at interview in being selected as our
Instructional Leader for the next 3 years. Stephanie will
lead our K-2 teachers in the Early Action for Success
initiative which has been funded by the state
government. Stephanie will work every Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday in supporting our K-2
students in improving their literacy and numeracy
levels; as well as providing professional learning
support for teachers. As a result of this appointment,
next year we have a few changes with our staffing.
Kindergarten will continue to be taught by Mrs
McDevitt. We will have 3 Stage 1 classes, aimed at
ensuring continued intensive support and extension for
our K-2 children. These classes will be staffed by Mrs
Emily Dun, Miss Walters and Mrs Alison White will be
team teaching a class (Mrs White Monday –
Wednesday/ Miss Walters Thursday & Friday), and we
welcome Mrs Tammy Makeham onto the other Stage 1
class. Stage 2 will be taught by Mrs Sue Davis and Mr
Jared Maxwell; Stage 3 by Mr Adam Baldock and Mrs
Lynne Shephard. Next week parents and children will
be advised of their class teacher for 2017.
Happy holiday
Next Friday will be the last day of Term 4. We have
once again had an amazing year full of wonderful
opportunities for our students. I trust all of our Junee
North families will enjoy a happy, healthy and safe
holiday. I look forward to welcoming you all back in
2017.
Kay

Choir lifts the roof
Well done to our junior and senior choirs for their
wonderful performance at Christmas on Broadway. It
was fantastic to have so many of our students
participating. Thank you to Mrs Davis and Mrs White
for preparing our singers.

Going, Going, Gone!
As part of our Fun and Run day fundraiser, Mrs Davis
had offered to have her hair cut if we managed to beat
our total of $1100 from last year. As we know we well
and truly beat this target! Mrs Davis was a great sport
(and luckily for her our resident hairdresser Jodi
Crowder was on hand !) and had her very long mane
chopped off. Thank you Mrs Davis (and your new
haircut looks great!)
