Spruce Knoll (Jerome & JoAnn) and Spruce Hill (Dean)Polled Herefords goal is to provide structurally correctcattle with sound feet and legs, good pigmentation, andbalanced EPDs. Our farm has a small feedlot where wefeed out the prior year's calf crop while retaining a coupleof yearling heifers for replacements. So, an additionalemphasis is put on leanness of FAT, REA and I MF traits inour AI and herd bull selection. We should have around 47calves this year sired by 9 different bulls which include acouple of ET calves. Main ancestry is P606 progeny with

the younger stock being Mo Magic progeny. We have a fewcows and top yearling heifer prospects for sa le if yourelooking to expand. We are honored that you could attendour stop on the tour!

We have been raising Herefords since 1995. Prior tohaving Hereford cattle, we had a Registered Holstein herd. Our herd currently consists of offspring we had purchasedfrom a variety of herds throughout Wisconsin. W e have adiversified group of pedigrees and frame sizes and are aTPR breeder. We AI our entire herd and then follow up withour herd bull, Lake International 311U; who is a BattleChief son. We strive for ideal udders, quality motheringand gentle dispositions. Our children enjoy taking an activerole in the cattle, from selecting AI sires, vaccinating, calving and showing. We have exhibited at the WisconsinState Fair, Washington County Fair, World Beef Expo,Badger Kick-Off and Jr. Nationals. We look forward tovisiting with you and hope you enjoy the tour this year.

The home farm was established in 1968 by Terry andDianne. They began raising Angus cattle initially with thepurchase of their first Hereford heifer in 2000. The

Hereford herd at Kegley Farms continues to grow. Wecurrently have 28 Hereford cows. Kegley Farms hopes tohave a herd of at least 55 Herefords by 2012 with the useof embryo transplant work. Our Herefords are bred andraised to continue to improve the quality and thickness ofeach animal. We strive to produce quality show cattle to

continue to do well at the local and national levels. W ehave done well in the show ring with purchased and homeraised show cattle. We had Supreme Champion Heifer atthe Wisconsin State Fair in 2006. This heifer went on towin reserve division at the National Western LivestockShow in 2007. One major accomplishment for KegleyFarms was when our home raised heifer won SupremeChampion Heifer at the Wisconsin State Fair in 2007.
