PROGRAM

SPONSORSHIP

The Wisconsin Green Building Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit

organization (tax ID 39-1975747). Your sponsorship may count

towards a tax deduction. Please consult your tax professional.

Where we live, learn and labor matters. Help us spread the word: Green buildings are better buildings.

Members of the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance believe that where we

live, learn and labor matters. It matters because people in Wisconsin spend

approximately 90% of their lives inside buildings. How buildings are

designed, constructed, maintained, and repaired affects the health,

productivity, and well-being of each of us, as well as that of our

communities and our planet.

As Wisconsin’s chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, WGBA

members are committed to the idea that “green” buildings are better

buildings. We are working actively within the state to educate and unite

individuals and companies to realize the economic, social, and

environmental benefits that are possible when all of Wisconsin’s citizens

live, learn, and labor in better buildings.

We are doing this in several ways: helping practitioners understand

and become proficient in USGBC’s LEED rating systems, reaching out to

schools across Wisconsin and supporting their efforts to educate the next

generation of citizens about how to live more sustainably while improving

the indoor environment in which they’re learning, recognizing and rewarding

the best examples of sustainable design, and providing opportunities for

individuals to connect, learn from, and support each other.

We hope you share that vision and will consider joining us in this

effort.

Invest in a better tomorrow by becoming a program sponsor for one of

WGBA’s outstanding 2015 events. Sponsoring provides you the unique

opportunity to connect with a wide audience throughout Wisconsin, build

brand awareness, and show your company’s support of an important cause:

sustainable and resilient building practices.

Take the opportunity to show value and support, and gain exposure to the

WGBA audience and the wider Wisconsin community through

strategic brand placement. Strategic program sponsorship provides your

organization a feature spot as part of a high-visibility initiative, as well as

potentially new ways to engage clients and employees.

Let’s work together to make Wisconsin a better place to live, learn and

work. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely, Korinne Haeffel Executive Director Wisconsin Green Building Alliance (414) 224-9422 [email protected]

Formerly known as the Sustainability and Energy Efficiency (Se2)

Conference, the newly streamlined Impact & Innovation Conference aims to

hit all aspects of sustainability in the built environment. The Conference is a

full day of intensive education for sustainable building professionals. The

day lends an opportunity for attendees to gain a refresher on LEED and

general green building best practices, meet new contacts, and take away

valuable information. For most, it will also be an opportunity to earn much

needed continuing education credits.

Highlight your organization with a captive audience! Don’t miss this

opportunity to show value and support, and gain exposure to the Wisconsin

Green Building Alliance audience through strategic brand placement and a

chance to feature your organization.

All sponsors are welcome to participate in the lunchtime IGNITE

30x30 NATURE CHALLENGE

15x30 Nature Challenge for Schools May 11—29, 2015 New for 2015! We had such success in 2014, we’re expanding the

program to include all the great schools in Wisconsin. Your

sponsorship dollars will not only help us provide an even better

program in June, but allow us to provide local schools with a new

activity and materials.

The goal of the 30x30 Nature Challenge is to create greater understanding

of people’s interaction with nature and the built environment. Traditionally,

humans have pushed nature aside, covered it up, and dominated it, rather

than building in a more sustainable way to exist in concert with natural

systems. However, the tradition is changing with the reality of climate

change and human health issues.

At WGBA, we believe where we live, learn, and labor matters, and how we

decide to create those spaces should be sustainable and resilient. To help

spread the word about coexisting and embracing our natural environment,

we launched the 30x30 Nature Challenge and asked people to spend 30

minutes each day for 30 days in nature.

Additionally, contact with nature relieves stress, increases memory

performance and creativity, and improves attention span. It’s beneficial for

2014 Quick Summary

Nearly 1,500 Wisconsinites pledged to take the challenge

30 companies and nonprofit organizations took part

Participants reflected on their participation and found they spent significantly more time visiting with friends and less time watching television or texting on their phone

WGBA and challenge sponsors were featured by many different media outlets (including an exclusive interview on Wisconsin Public Radio)

workplace relations and collaboration efforts.

Wisconsin has over 5.7 million residents, and we want all of them to benefit

from the powerful impacts of nature. With your organization’s investment,

we can increase our outreach, improve our associated programming, and

have a strong and immediate impact on our communities. In return, your

organization can benefit from a wide exposure through a variety of

marketing channels.

GREEN APPLE DAY OF SERVICE

Green Apple Day of Service (GADoS), through the

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Center for

Green Schools, provides an opportunity to transform

schools into healthy, safe, and productive learning

environments through local service projects.

It’s free for schools to participate in Green Apple

Day, and project possibilities are endless. The obstacle they all face,

however, is a severe lack of funding. We were able to help 14 schools with

projects ranging from recycling awareness to outdoor classroom building.

While this is a great improvement over the first two years of participation, it

is far from enough. We can, and should, do much more – but we need your

help!

Please consider investing in Green Apple Day of Service! Your donation will

allow us to directly support five projects at K-12 schools across the State of

Wisconsin through the purchase of project supplies, food for participants,

teaching materials, and other support needs.

Remember: green schools are more than buildings. Green schools are

places where children learn the wonders of the world and teachers prepare

the next generation of leaders and citizens. Let’s work together to

showcase our commitment to Wisconsin’s children and their future, who in

turn learn from an early age the importance and benefits of acting as

responsible stewards of their communities and the larger world.

Transformation Awards Reception

Celebrating leaders in the built environment

Comments from 2014 Attendees

“I have attended a lot of events and the networking here was first rate.

The way you handled the award ceremony was perfect. It flowed well

and moved along. It was very subtle how you intergraded Board

Members into the ceremony. You succeeded in highlighting the

pedigrees of Board Members without being boastful about it. These

folks have impressive resumes. Wonderful!”

“Simply put: Nice work. You successfully pulled off a delightful, smart

event.”

“The awards truly shared what a thoughtful vision can achieve,

especially to those of us not totally into green building.”
