TEST METHOD Determination of wetting power Principle : Grey-state cotton fabric is immersed in the test solution. The fabric contains air which gives it buoyancy. As the liquid penetrates the fabric it expels the occluded air and the fabric starts to sink. The time from immersion to sinking is measured. Procedure : Equipment: (along the general lines of DIN test 53901 --> enclosed) Immersion clamp No. I 1000 ml glass beaker, low shape Thermometer Water: de-ionized water at 25°C Test product: 3.5 g/l (other amounts can be chosen if necessary) Material: grey-state cotton netting No. 1-3034 3.5 cm Procedure: Make up 1000 ml test solution Fix the grey-state cotton netting in the clamp Dip the clamp into test solution & release cotton netting gripped in it immediately Assessment : Time measurement: Measure time between immersion & sinking of grey-state cotton netting. For each test product perform 10 measurements in the same liquor Test report Delete the highest and the lowest of the 10 measured times. Calculate the mean of the remaining 8.

TEST METHOD

Determination of wetting power

Principle : Grey-state cotton fabric is immersed in the test solution. The fabric contains air which gives it buoyancy. As the liquid penetrates the fabric it expels the occluded air and the fabric starts to sink. The time from immersion to sinking is measured. Procedure : Equipment: (along the general lines of DIN test 53901 --> enclosed)

Immersion clamp No. I

1000 ml glass beaker, low shape Thermometer

Water: de-ionized water at 25°C

Test product: 3.5 g/l (other amounts can be chosen if necessary)

Material: grey-state cotton netting No. 1-3034 ∅ 3.5 cm

Procedure: Make up 1000 ml test solution

Fix the grey-state cotton netting in the clamp Dip the clamp into test solution & release cotton netting gripped in

it immediately

Assessment : Time measurement:

Measure time between immersion & sinking of grey-state cotton netting. For each test product perform 10 measurements in the same liquor

Test report Delete the highest and the lowest of the 10 measured times. Calculate the mean of the remaining 8.
