WET DYE: DAWN AND DUSK

Chapter : The AssassinPitchforks and torches were raised high up in the night sky as

the citizens began the war. Gunshots, yelling and screaming were

heard all about the city of New Kielem. The stench of blood and

dead corpses were everywhere. Some bodies lay in the middle of

the street, and in some other unusual places like rooftops,

chimneys, or even nailed to a building leaving the corpse to rot.Some had arms and legs torn off, while others had been covered in

holes bullets made and surrounded by puddles of the red liquid.

Glass was broken and things were stolen if they were worth it.

The only lights visible were torches and the giant full moon. All

the Americans were confused, scared, and uncertain of whom their

enemy was. The only thing they cared about was to see someone

dead. Women and children cowered in fear as they were mistaken

for the mysterious man. Some that used to be good friends turned

against one another. A man in a black coat appeared on top of a

roof standing with his arms folded. The moon turned him into a

black shadow. This man was Nightshade.

Fools. He said in a low voice. Soon their limit will be reached

and my goal shall be accomplished. Nightshade formed a blackspiraling sphere with one hand. He squatted on the roof and threw

the sphere at a nearby house like a grenade and watched it become

engulfed by dark clouds and become nothing in mere seconds. All

of the citizens were bewildered by the explosion. One had seen

where it came from and saw him in the moonlight.

There he is! Shoot him! A man said. Gunshots zipped past

Nightshade. Nightshade put up a black shield in front of him to

prevent the bullets from hitting his dark cloak. He then jumped

off the building and hid in an alley. Shit I gotta be more

careful. After a while, when he thought he was safe, a group of

50 men and women that surrounded him and formed a circle. They

all pointed their guns and some took out giant knives from their

homes. All of them grinned and laughed.

We have you now Nightshade! One man bravely stepped up

and held his gun at his head. You should have been more careful

stepping into this alley. Now the only thing that waits you is your

death! Do ya have any last words? Nightshade had his head

down not even facing him.

Yeah a few. He said. He gripped the mans hand firmly

and looked at him with a smile. Burn in hell. He crunched his

hand and twisted it around. The man screams and falls down on

the hard concrete floor. Nightshade ripped his arm off and having

blood spatter all around the walls and on the groups faces and

clothes. The man screamed as hard as he could and complained

about the pain. The expressions of the group showed their fear

and weakness toward Nightshade as he licked the blood off of thebottom of the arm.

No! Tom! a woman said. Damn you whatever you are,

but he just chuckled. The group all charged at Nightshade. He

took out his sword, covered it with the puddle of blood on the

ground, and jumped high into the air. He smirked and looked at

the gang below. The gang attempted to shoot Nightshade while he

was in the air. He was struck a few times and felt enormous pain.

Raise Hell, Gekkou Kiba! Nightshade performed a front flip

and gripped his sword with both hands. He stabbed the ground

and a wave of red energy spread out around him and shoot the

earth itself. The glowing red light turned the ground into

skeletons not leaving one drop of blood. The armless man crawled

toward Nightshade from behind.

Still alive are you? Im amazed. Nightshade made a quickslash and put his sword in its holder. When it clicked, the mans

head rolled at his feet and he smashed it.

Fools. The fact these pathetic creatures are weak pisses me

off Nightshade found an entrance to a sewer and went down.

The battle cries and gunshots began to fade as he got deeper and

deeper.

When he reached the bottom, he listened to the footsteps

around him. Someone was approaching him.

It would be best to use this then. He thought. He

grabbed a pendant with the full moon on it. The edges and beads

were colored gold that made a necklace. He put it around his neck

and closed his eyes.The only light that cannot be seen. The one image with no

beauty or foulness. Come hither to me and let thou rest. He

said. He climbed out of the sewer and jumped on the rooftops.

No gunshots were fired or screaming from all distances. He was in

complete silence. He was now a free man. All was blank and white

as the moon. The only colors that could be seen were white and

black. It was the feeling of being inside an empty coloring book.

He jumped on different rooftops going in one direction. Hismovements were slower than before, but still felt it was normal.

He stopped at a house that was different than all the others. It

was one of the few houses with two floors. The other houses are

big, but only have one floor. He opened the window on the second

floor and jumped through it as if riding a slide. He landed on his

two feet inside a bedroom. He removed the pendant and he could

see all color again. He looked to his right and saw an empty bed.He lies on the bed and shut his eyes. His black hair covered his

blue eyes and his breathing began to slow down.

Lights alarm clock blared in his left ear. He opened his pale

green eyes slowly and turned off the annoying buzzer. He woke up

half-asleep and stretched. As much as he felt like going to sleep,

he knew he had to put some clothes on. He got out of bed and

took off his star pajamas. He put on some black jeans and a Dark

blue T-Shirt with a thunderbolt in the middle. He yawned and

looked at the clock. While looking, he scratched his head.

It was 8:01 AM.

Awe man He said a little groggy. Who wakes up this

early on a Saturday anyway? His eyes grew wide and he thought

for a second. Wait a minute. If its Saturday morning, then

that means, I get the house to myself! Light doesnt like waking

up early on Saturday, but he wont sleep once hes awake. Light

immediately turned on his television and turned on the Nintendo

GameCube. He took out a few games and put one of them in. He

took his orange controller and played away. The first game he

played was called Fatal Clash.

Someone knocked on the door three times.

Come in He said facing the door behind him. The door

creaked open and a girl peered through the door. She then opened

it all the way. Light turned around and smiled. Morning Lil! He

said. The girl smiled back and blushed. Good morning big

brother. She said. Her name was Lilly. Shes a few yearsyounger than Light. Light looked back at the screen. He was

completely focused on the game. He didnt even blink. Lilly was on

his bed and watched him. It made Light feel a little nervous. He

wasnt used to being watched by others.

Kids, Breakfast is ready! An older woman shouted from

downstairs.

Ok mom! Light shouted from his room. He paused the game

he was playing and ran out the door. Lilly followed. They both

loved their mothers cooking. When they went downstairs, they

saw three breakfast plates. All of them had Scrambled eggs,

bacon and sausage. On the side, there were bowls of pancakes,

waffles, and grits. It was a lot of food for a small family. Light

rubbed his hands together and licked his lips Light sat down first

and began eating fast with his hands.

Light! His mother shouted. You know better than to eat in

such a barbaric way! Light and Lillys mothers name is Lauren.

She looks older than she really is and has an anger management

issue. Some of Lights friends are in love with his mom. As

creepy as it sounds, hed probably say the same thing. Lauren

usually wears a ponytail and shirts that dont cover her belly-button. She also drinks and has parties when Light and Lilly are at

school. Because she was in the military, shes incredibly strong.

Light swallowed the last of his food in his mouth that stuffed his

cheeks and looked at his mother. She looked extremely red and

had fire in her eyes. Light knew that look meant either a lecture

or a slap. If he wanted to live for a few more years, he hoped it

was the lecture. Lauren made a fist and clenched it tightly.

DONT EAT LIKE A PIG! She punched his head and a giant

bruise came out. He fell on his face on the floor. He got up and

covered his head with both hands.

Sorry. He said disappointedly with his eyes closed and

bowed. Lauren looked at Lilly and smiled.

Arent you going to sit down Lilly? Theres plenty of food

for you! Lilly was a little scared. She nodded her head.

Y-yes She said. She sat down and began eating with a fork

very slowly. Light got up and sat in his seat. He was amazed by

all of the food on the table. He was going to eat really fast

again, but his mother glared at him with one eye. He felt

intimidated, picked up his fork and began eating.

Man! Im stuffed! Light said rubbing his stomach. Im

going back to my room to play videogames! Light ran up the

stairs.

Wait a minute Light; its your turn to do the dishes. She said

holding a frying pan. She pretended she was going to hit him with

it. Light looked at her like she was crazy.

Is it really necessary to hold a frying pan?! He said. He sighed

and rolled up his sleeves. He turned the hot water on and began

to work. Lauren smiled at Lilly and put her hands together.

So Lilly, what would you like to do?

Damn that woman. Always treating Lil better than me. Light

muttered. Luckily the water was on so Lauren couldnt hear him.

Lilly looked behind Lauren to see Light but Lauren blocked her.

Come on! Lets go shopping! Lauren said.

B-but big brother-

Forget Light for a minute! Lets go! She interrupted. Lauren

grabbed Lillys hand and ran out the front door. When the car

started and drove away, Light jumped for joy.

Finally shes gone! He turned the water off. He only washed a

few dishes and left the dirty ones in the sink. He turned on the

television and sat on the couch. He continued to play one of hisfavorite games. When Light was about to pass the level, the

television suddenly turned to the news. It shocked him at first,

but the topic shocked him even more: Alien attacks New Kielem.

He had a mysterious power that made buildings disappear before

their eyes. The strangest thing was he had the shape of a man.

Light was shocked when he saw video footage of him. On the

bottom of the television screen, they put a number to call if they

saw the person anywhere.

When the news went off, the phone rang on a small wooden

table with four legs. The ringer was more annoying than a swarm

of mosquitos. Light answered the phone and sat on his bed with

his shoulder holding the phone. At the same time, he was also

playing Fatal Clash.

It was David Saivom. He has been one of Lights best friendssince third grade. He was tan with medium sized hair. He was

very strong for his age and was one year younger than Light.

Hello? Light said.

Light. Did you see the news?

Yeah I did. Thats some scary stuff dude

Yeah.

What would you do if you saw him Light?

Dude, dont even go there. Its scary enough hes on the

loose!

But you have to admit its beast how he can make darkness.

Yeah I guess. Another person on the line spoke suddenly.

Guess who?! The other person said.

Hey Aaron. Light replied happily. Aaron Grads was close

enough to be Lights brother. He was the reason Light was an

expert in videogames.

Sup Arwin

Dude, Im freakin scare. You guyssaw the news right?

Yeah. Me and David were just talking about it.

Maybe if I had a sword, I could take him down Aaron said.

Aaron always wanted a sword as his choice of a weapon, David

wanted a pet dragon, and Light didnt know what he wanted, aslong as he was strong.

I dont think a sword would take him down dude. He looks

incredibly strong. It said on the news he took down 50 people in

one swing of his! David and Aaron forgot about that part. A

woman was yelling at Aaron on the other line.

Oops. Sorry guys I gotta go. Ill talk to you later. Theysaid bye and he hang up.

So Light, you wanna go to the park? David asked.

Sure! Ill meet you there at noon.

K. Bye David said.

See you later.

Light hung up. Light wanted to go to the park as soon as he

got off the phone, but he remembered he had to do his chores

first. It was 9:32 AM according to Lights Morucri watch.

Morucri was Lights favorite character on Fatal Clash. Light

enjoyed collecting accessories based on videogames, movies, and

television shows. Light remembered he took an hour to get to the

park. He definitely did not want to disappoint his mother, so he

turned the water on and went back to work.

Light cleaned the dishes, his room, Lillys room, and the worst

place of them all: The bathroom. He went into the bathroom with

a whole basket full of cleaning supplies. He groaned at all of the

work that had to be done, but he put his gloves on and pretended

it was nothing to worry about. When he finished the job, he

thought about going to his room and play videogames with his

remaining time. He went upstairs to where his room was and did

as.

After about an hour of solitude, the doorbell rang. He

quickly ran downstairs to answer the door. Going too fast, he

almost tripped on the stairs. He panted and tried to catch his

breath a little bit and looked out the window cautiously.

It was Pamela Flash from school. Pamela was in the Light

Yakamura fan club. Light doesnt know about the fan club, but he

does know some of the girls like him.

When she saw Light she turned her head away afraid to look

into his eyes.

Oh Pam its you. Light said still panting. Whats up?Ohumm I was wondering if you would like to go to the park.

Sure we can go! At first he was excited, and then he

remembered why David called. But David will be there so it wont

be the two of us anymore. He replied trying to smile.

Thats ok she said. She looked down as if hoping she would be

alone with Light. Light invited her inside and she looked around.

Shes never been inside his house in all the years shes known him.

Wow Light you have a lot of neat stuff in here She

said. Light gave her a confused look.

What are you talking about? This is a pretty normal house. But

Pam wasnt paying attention. She looked at the different vases

and other valuable items of Laurens. She just felt like touching

the shiny objects, but it would be rude to do so without asking.

She saw a painting in the living room wall that caught her eye the

most. It showed two figures standing back to back to each other.

There was a vertical line that split the two figures facing back to

back. The left figure was black with a white background holding a

sword, while the right was white with a blue background holding a

book as if reading it. On the bottom right, there was a little

description. She read:

Pure Isolation.

One power needs another.

Nothing is perfect.

Oh that old thing? Dont worry about it. I dont understand

it either. Light said behind her. She flinched and looked back at

him.

Hey Ill be right back. I have to finish something real quick.

She nodded and let him go to his room to save his game. She

turned back to the painting and repeated the lines to herself

several times to try to understand what the words mean.

Once Light came back out, he saw her sitting down on the

couch. She looked down at the blue, soft carpet clenching her

skirt. Hey Pam! Im finished with what I had to do, so lets go

to the park now. She turned too looked at Light. Then she

smiled.

Okay. She said. He walked to the door and opened it for her.Oh thank you. She said amazed.

No problem he said back to her. Light locked the door with his

key and they walked to their favorite spot, Shizuka (Peaceful)

Park. Pam held his hand on the way there.

Hey Light She asked.

Whats up? Pam began to get closer to him by putting her arm

around his and putting her head on his shoulder.

Weve known each other a long time right?

Yeah. Its amazing how we became friends over a swing.

About 9 years ago, Light and Pam met at Shizuka Park.

There were 7 swings attached to steel chains. There was only oneswing left and they both wanted to get on that swing. Before they

knew it, they both fought over the swing. Light got dirty so many

times; He realized it wasnt worth it. So he decided to give the

last swing to Pam. She stuck her tongue out at him and rode on

the swing. Light walked away from her smiling which puzzled her.

When she was done, it was already disk and she looked for Light.

When she found him, she saw him searching for something. He

turned around held out his hand, and gave her an onyx necklace.She was dazzled by its beauty and luster. She kissed him on the

cheek and ran off with it. Little did she know that he had stole it

from his mother at the age of three and buried it deep in the

sandbox.

You know I still have that necklace you gave me. She said.

Light looked at her vast cleavage and spotted the purple gemstone.

Oh thats cool! He said staring at her chest getting excited.

C-can you stop staring at my chest please? She asked nicely.

Light blushed and turned around embarrassed. Sorry.

Its ok.

They heard kids yelling and screaming in the distance. Light,

I know this may be weird to ask, but do you ever hang out with

girls other than me? Light stopped walking to think.

Hmm Nope! Not one!

Oh Well have you ever had your first kiss yet? Light gulped

and started sweating.

No. Why do you ask?

I was just thinking because I kissed you on the cheek when you

gave me this. That really doesnt count as a kiss. Ive never had

my first kiss either. Light look in her big red eyed contacts and

she looked in his green eyes. Pam stood in front of him and put

her arms around his neck and closed her eyes. She puckered her

lips and slowly made her way toward his. Lights heart was beating

so fast, he almost wanted to hurry up and get it over with.

Hey Light! Over here! A voice yelled. Light and Pam

immediately stopped and turned to the mysterious noise. It was

Gabe, another one of Lights friends. Gabriel Jarus was a very

short kid who almost had no respect for anyone especially women.

He had short black hair and was pretty immature for his age.

Gabe ran toward the couple and David followed.

Hey Light, whos the hoe? Gabe asked confidently. Pam gaspedand slapped him so hard; He thought steam was coming from his

cheek. Pam held onto Light and stuck her tongue out at him. He

ended up on the floor rubbing his cheek and smiling seeming to have

liked the abuse.

You got a lot to learn about women Gabe Light said in a way

that means I told you so.

Shut up queer bag! Gabe barked at Light. Pam cracked her

knuckles and David took out his phone and started recording. All

that could be heard were punches and Gabe screaming. Other kids

turned and looked at Gabe getting a beating, then they went back

to their own business.

Hey David, youre here earl why did you come now? Light saidwhen he glanced at David.

Because Gabe called me. He replied as he was trying to save the

video onto his phone. Surprisingly, Gabe didnt get any blood

spilled, but he felt tremendous pain and bruises all over his body.

David and Gabe had known each other since second grade. Light

didnt know Gabe until sixth grade. If Gabe got into a real fight,

David and Light would have helped him, but they felt he kinda

deserved getting beat by Pamela.

Pam drank some water from the fountain nearby. The guys

were surprised by Pamelas strength. Light even shook his head to

make himself realized what happened. When she came back she

looked at the guys.

Whats with all of the faces? Especially yours Light. Youve

seen me fight all the time!

Ive never seen you this mad before! Light said. David

began to look at her strangely he was curious to know who she was.

Who are you anyway? David asked out of curiosity.

Pam smiled and pointed to herself striking a pose. Im

Pamela Renderas! My favorite hobby is fighting!

Its true. Light said For a blonde, shes really good at

fighting. David and Gabe looked at each other, then at Light,

then at Pamela.

Whats that supposed to mean Light? Are you assuming all

blonde girls are weak? She asked him. David and Gabe backed

away from Light. Gabe was snickering behind Lights back. Light

was trying to think of what to say. He didnt mean it that way,

but thats now what Pamela thought.

No Pam! Its just thatthere are some girls that arent as

strong as you. Light said stuttering on almost every word. Pam

got closer and closer to Light while he tried to back away from

her.

So you two are going out? David asked out of the blue. Light

and Pam blushed and turned away from each other.

Well, were not necessarily going out but were good

friends. Light said. Pam nodded as well.

What do you mean by Not necessarily going out? You either

are or you arent! Gabe told Light.

Well, we kindaact like boyfriend and girlfriend but were notexactly boyfriend and girlfriend. Pam said.

So is that a yes or a no? David and Gabe thought.

You better watch yourself or else youll get me really angry.

She warned Gabe.

Lights cell phone went off. The ringer was a techno tune.

He answered the phone which turned out to be his mother.

Hey mom. He said casually.

Light come home right now before it gets dark outside. I

know you saw the news mister! And I dont want you to get hurt

by that thing! Light had completely forgot about the alien

incident. His face looked pale and he was afraid to speak he

dropped the phone for a second but caught it before it hit the

ground.

O-ok mom He replied. He hung up and took off.

Where are you going Light? Pam asked.

I gotta get home! You guys remember the mystery man

right? Well my mom wants me at home safe! All three of them

were shocked when Light mentioned the man. They all forgot

about him too. Pam chased after Light.

Wait up Light! She yelled.

Damn it its already 12:30 PM. Light thought as he looked

at his phone. Outside the park, Light saw a group of people

dressed in black hanging around a staircase that led to an old

apartment building. A few of them were smoking. That group was

the black Phoenix Gang. Light knew he had to be careful especiallybecause not a lot of people live in his town. Therefore, there

were no witnesses if something bad happened.

Hey you! Where do you think youre going? One of them

said.

Light wanted to stop but he just had to keep running. The

guys in black chased after him. Although Light was very fast, heknew the gang found ways to outsmart people. While he was

focused on looking behind him, he didnt notice that one of them

was already in front. He bumped into him by mistake and got his

white Nike shoes dirty. The member, of course, was very

displeased. Seeing Light fall on the ground after bumping into him

made him somewhat better. He was going to kick him until a

familiar voice spoke,

Well, well, well if it isnt my old friend Light. A deep

voice said.

Crap. That voice Light thought. The man took off his

hood and revealed himself.

It was Jean Anderson: The leader of the Black Phoenix

Gang. Even though hes a sophomore at Lights high school, he is

still the strongest kid that Lights ever met. Jean had a tattoo of

a black skull on his face under his right eye.

Its nice to see an old face here again Jean said with a

smile.

What do you want Jean? Imbusy doing something.

Oh nothing really. Im just here to take your girl. Light

fear turned into anger when he heard girl.

Shes not my girl! Shes a friend of mine! He yelled.

Oh good Thats even better!

After he finished his sentence, Light realized what he said

was bad. Pam ran to Lights aid and accidently bumped into one of

the gang members and fell.

Hey baby arent you looking fine today. Pam got up and

backed away from Jean. She ran to Light, helped him up and got

in her fighting position.

Whats it to you, you creep? Pamela snapped at Jean. The

gang laughed.

Hey boys! We got ourselves a feisty one! Jean told them.

Pam! Run away! Light yelled. One gang member kneed him

in the stomach and he fell to the floor.

Dont interrupt me mutt. Jean ordered Light with a grim

look. Pam only ran to Jean and kicked him in the face. Jean took

the full blow making his head turn, but the kick only hurt Pamela.

She groaned in pain.

Hey! Dont be dissin us like dat ya hear lady? one of the

members told her.

Guys, guys, its cool. I got this one. Jean pulled out his

special switchblade and pointed it at Pam. Look babe, we can do

this the easy way or my way. He said as he licked the knife.

But that didnt affect Pam.

If you guys know whats good for you, then I suggest you

leave me alone. Pamela said. Im just getting warmed up!

Oh were not gonna hurt you. Were gonna hurt your little

boyfriend. Jean said as hepointed the blade to Light.

Light gulped loudly. Pam let her guard down and made a sigh

meaning whatever.

Ok She said. Do whatever you want with me. All of

the guys whooped and shouted. Light was the only one who was

afraid of what might happen to her. Jean led her to an ally

nearby. He grabbed Pamela by the arm and took her to an ally.

The gang yelled uproariously. Pam winked at Light promising that

everything would be alright. Once Jean and Pam escaped into theally, the gang members focused on Light.

Now what should we do with the runt? Light didnt want to

pay attention to the guys. He was only thinking about Pam.

Would she really do it? He asked himself. He pictured her on

the swing 9 years ago. The time he gave the onyx to her.

Should we kill him?

Nah lets wait until Jeans done. Light started trembling

when he heard the word Kill. Of all the things in the world, he

would picture death the last thing.

Hey, do you think we can kick their asses? A voice in the

distance said in a calm way.

Yeah definitely. Another one said.

Light and the gang looked at another group of people. At

first glance it was a bunch of silhouettes, hidden by the sun, but

then he looked closer by squinting his eyes.

It was David and Gabe with other kids from his school.

Light I hope you dont mind, but we brought a couple of

friends to help. David said holding a baseball bat.

Behind David and Gabe were about 12 kids. All of them were

the same age or older than Light. Lights face was beaming with

hope when he saw his friends.

Guys Light said almost tearful. Howd you know I was

here and with- Light was knocked unconscious in the head by one

of the members.

Shut up punk! One guy pulled out a knife and tossed it to

the one that knocked Light out.

Kill this bastard! The guy grabbed the knife, aimed for

Light head and came down with full force. Before he could touch

his head, drops of blood fell on Lights face and the guy fell

backwards.

Ryan Synchle, a junior in high school, shot the man in the

head and showed his face to the guys.

Oh shit! Its Red Ryan! One member said.

Yeah its me. Sorry to say this but, youre games are

definitely over. Ryan said with a grim look then shot another

bullet in the air.

The group ran away cowering in fear.

You punks will pay for this! One man said. The boys

cheered for Ryan as he blew steam from his custom made .45 colt

revolver. But all the cheering ceased when police sirens were

heard from the distance.

Guys! We gotta bail! Ryan said. The kids hopped the

fence into the cemetery where there were thorn bushes. Ryan

helped all of them get over the fence.

Hey Ryan. Thanks for doing this Gabe said

Dont thank me just go! When the police lights saw Ryan,

Light and the dead member, Ryan put his gun down and his handsup.

When Light woke up, he was in the hospital with bandages

around his head. Lilly, Lauren, David and Gabe were glad when

they saw Lights eyes open. Lilly went beside Light and wrapped

her arms around his neck.

We were so worried big brother! Light began to feel worse

when she hugged him. When she was done, his eyes seemed to be

spinning. She tilted her head and was confused.

Did I overdo it? Lilly thought.

Gabe laughed at Light. Payback time! He thought.

When Light came too, he was very confused.

Hey, where are the guys and Pam? David stood up from the

chair and came closer to Light.

When you were knocked out, Ryan came and shot one of the

phoenix members. He said.

Someone called the police and we all escaped except for

Ryan. Gabe added. Light almost didnt care about Ryan because

both of them never got along so well. His main concern was Pam.

Then what happened to Pam?

I dont know. I think she ran away.

Dont think! I need a straight answer! Light yelled. A tear

shed from his face. David stopped talking.

Light, dont get worried. Im sure shes fine. Lauren said

trying to calm him down.

A nurse entered the room. She looked at the group and told

them visiting hours were over. They all stared at her.

Cant we stay a little longer? Lilly said. The nurse looked

at Lilly sternly, then closed her eyes and made a serious face.

Im sorry. But this boy needs his rest. You may come back

tomorrow.

Before we leave, can you tell us how long it will take before

Light recovers? Lauren asked.

It may take a couple days. The nurse said looking at her

clipboard making sure what she said was certain. She was

completely shocked by the results that she dropped the clipboard.

Whats wrong?! Light asked panicked. The nurse bent down

to pick the clipboard up and acted as if nothing happened.

Oh! Im sorry! Im kinda clumsy! She said as she put her

hand against her head. Then she walked out of the room and shut

the door fast. Light looked at the clock and saw it was five

minutes until nine.

Um maybe I wouldnt mind staying here. Light said when

he finally got comfortable in the bed.

Ill stay here too. Lilly said.

Are you sure you two are okay staying in a hospital?

Well be fine mom! His frown turned into a smile and he

gave her thumbs up. She smiled back at him and they all left the

room. When the door shut, Light got worried again.

Its almost 9. Soon, Ill fall asleep. Its too bad I wont be

able to see the moon. He lay down on his bed and pulled the bed

sheets over him. He forgot how much his head hurt until he

started resting. He just hoped the pain would go away soon

enough.

Lilly went to sleep on the bed next to Lights bedroom.

Before she closed her eyes, she looked at her brother, smiled and

then went to bed.
