Trading Timelines


Trading Timelines Background

The MIC approved the Trading Timeline Guideline at its March 2008 meeting.

April 1, 2008 implementation date. WECC membership and electricity trading

community informed of guideline. Guideline has been ignored. Recommendation to withdraw the

Guideline at June 2008 MIC meeting.


Trading Timelines Guideline

• Guideline: The trading of day-ahead energy transactions in the Western Interconnection should begin no earlier than 6:00 a.m. Pacific Prevailing Time.

Motion:

• The MIC approves the withdrawal of the Trading Timeline Guideline Effective December 1, 2008. The MIC chair is instructed to notify the WECC membership and other appropriate parties in the electricity trading community of the withdrawal of the guideline.

Regional Reliability Standards


Market T/T in Reliability Standards - Background

• MIS presented a policy for approval at March 2008 MIC meeting.

• MIC tabled the Policy.• MIC agreed WECC should have a

guideline document for developing standards, regional criteria, etc.

• JGC supports this effort.• MIC to work with WECC staff and

develop a draft policy.


Status - Market T/T in Reliability Standards

• Standards Request Routing Committee process enhancements.

• Regional Criteria and Guidelines process issues.

• Develop WECC drafting team instruction manual.

• Housekeeping item.

ponder.
