Brooking Street ReserveWalking distance from the mainstreet and just around the cornerfrom the RV Park is a small butbountiful Bush Reserve onBrooking Street. The reserve has12 native orchid species of whichmany are seen from July -October. The hybrid pink fairy andcowslip orchid is a species thatattracts many here. 

Poison Hill ReserveThe reserve is located around 10km east of Beverleyoff Morbinning Road, on Aiken Road. Late winter toearly spring is your best chance at spotting somebeautiful spider orchids. The everlastings are alwaysspectacular here too.

Deep Pool ReserveLocated along the Dale River, is a beautiful spot rich with flora and fauna. To get there go south ofBeverley on the Great Southern Highway, turn onto Westdale Road. Further up Westdale Rd is DeepPool Rd, where you will find the Reserve at the end.

Mortlock River ReserveAccessible from the Mortlock River rest stop on Goomalling-Toodyay Road, use the firebreak to wander through thereserve to discover orchids, wildflowers, birds and faunathriving in the Mortlock River eco-system, which feeds intothe Avon River.

Walyormouring ReserveStretch your legs on the interpretive walk trail which touches on indigenous history, flora and faunaand the insitu gnammas. Finish the trail at the picnic area, cook up dinner on the fire BBQ and sleepunder the stars. Free overnight camping permitted (2) nights, eco-toilet onsite.

Konnongorring Reservesis a must stop for nature lovers. From the recreationreserve to Gabby Quoi Quoi lookout, tread lightly as youtry to uncover the rare orchids in the area.

Woondowing Nature ReserveFrom the Great Eastern Highway (heading towards Perth),turn right onto Coates Road (after you pass throughBakers Hill). Follow this road around, until you reach SimsRoad, where you should turn right. Follow Sims Roadalong, and you will see the nature reserve area on yourright-hand side.

Clackline ReserveFrom the Great Eastern Highway (heading towardsPerth), turn right onto Refractory Road, and followthis until the end, where you will turn left. Followthis road around, and you will see the ClacklineReserve. Clackline also has a number of other walktrails (including the popular Flora Trail) which canbe accessed by starting at Lion Park (SpencersBrook Road). Also look out for Bobakine reservenearby.

Wongamine ReserveFrom the Goomalling Toodyay Road, Wongamine Reserve can be accessed from parking bays onForest and Beejording Roads. This reserve consistently hosts a variety of wildflowers including theWinter Spider Orchid. There are a number of fire breaks that can be used as walk tracks to explorethe pristine bushland. 

Pelham ReserveSituated at the top of Duke Street, Pelham Reserve is steep and hilly and provides many scenicviewpoints over the town. Parking is located at the main lookout along with picnic & toilet facilities andthe James Drummond Memorial garden. There are a number of walk tracks to explore and in springthe slopes are carpeted in pink Everlasting flowers..

Dawn Atwell ReserveDawn Atwell reserve is easily accessed from Julimar Road witha parking area, picnic table and interpretive signage near thecorner of Parkland Drive. The fire breaks and tracks are idealfor walking and the terrain is relatively flat. The reserve isrenowned for its wild flowers with over a hundred speciesrecorded there. 

Mokine ReserveThe reserve is a hotspot for photos due to its stunning display of wildflowers in Spring. Theroadside is dotted with buttercups, everlastings and Canola can often be viewed along thepicturesque drive out to Mokine Reserve.

 

Gwambygine ParkGreat Southern Hwy, 10kms south of York coming fromBeverley. The best time to visit is winter & Spring with theriver flowing and surrounding landscape in full greenery. Ahotspot for birdlife and native fauna. Gwambygine Park isalso a RV and pet friendly camp spot offering gas BBQ’s,picnic tables, potable water and public toilets.
