Nick started having some difficulty breathing over the last week. It is sporadic but enough that we headed into CHOP today to see the Palliative Care Doctors. They decided to do chest x-rays...The results were not what we had hoped for. His left lung is now filled with tumors and is also starting to fill with fluid.

This is the major cause of his breathing issues as the right lung had already been filled with fluid and we were relying on this left lung that had been clear. Nick's legs and feet are also taking on fluid. We are hoping that the doctors can get his pain under control. They are sending out a nurse within the next couple of days to bring oxygen and train us on how to help eliminate Nick's breathing difficulties.

We ask that you continue to pray for Nick and our family. The most difficult times lay ahead of us...

What a smile:

Lauren Kingsley, the daughter of Debbie Kingsley, who is the Accounting supervisor at West Chester, recently had to have all of her teeth replaced and the Foundation helped by providing part of the funding for the very expensive cosmetic dentistry that was needed to restore her lovely smile. She looks great now and we all hope that she enjoys her future.

FUNDRAISERS 2012

Tribute to BILL: The Westcode Foundation wishes to pay tribute to Bill

Turner, a long time supporter of all our fundraising events Bill has given generously of his time and his

money to help the foundation reach its goals THANK YOU BILL.

As in Previous years The Westcode Foundation will organize two golf tournaments to raise funds for the charities it supports. We appreciate the help that all of those who give of their time and money to support these events. This year the plans are:

BINGHAMTON EVENT:

The Tony Gallagher Memorial Golf Match, to take place at Conklin Players Club, on the 4th May 2012.

This event is dedicated to the memory of a remarkable young man and engineer, who have worked in Japan for Westcode Technology partner, then returned to Binghamton to work for Westcode

WEST CHESTER EVENT:

It was suggested that in a similar manner to the dedication of the Binghamton event, that we name the West Chester golf event “The Nicholas Mincarelli Golf Match” to give encouragement and support to a very Brave young man. The Board unanimously accepted this idea. The initial date selected for this event is August 10th 2012, and the venue again is Broad Run Golf Club.

The last match held was in Binghamton in Sept 2010, the winning team was “Billy’s

Boys” (Bill Turner, Mike Jurasek, Al Mincarelli, and Bill Smith

. The winners are shown with Jayne Mincarelli, Cheri Caceres, and Carol

Widdowson who were largely responsible for the organization of the event

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the many people who help organize these events both large and small, from the golf matches to the raffles and the 50/50’s that go to raise the money that helps make at least some peoples difficulties a little easier. When tragedy strikes, some of the additional stress can be relieved by the availability of funds to overcome short-term difficulties.

I wanted to personally thank all those people who take part in the fundraising events, for both their contributions of money and their time.
